S9 Keeps Turning Off
Problem: My Samsung Galaxy S9 keeps turning off. It shut off earlier and I tried everything to turn it back on. Then I plugged it up to the charger and it said I had 59 percent battery. So I hit the power button again and it finally came on. And just now it was on the charger and I went to check it and it had shut off again.
Solution: The first thing that you should do in this case is to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. Follow the troubleshooting steps listed below to check if this is the case.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. When your phone operates in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. If the issue does not occur in this mode then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Remove the microSD card of the phone ( if you have one installed).
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the issue still occurs after performing the steps listed above then this could already be a hardware related problem in which case you will need to have this checked at a service center.
S9 Keeps On Restarting Unless Plugged To Wall Charger
Problem: I was using my Samsung Galaxy S9 like usual when it suddenly restarted when I used 4G and the web browser. I thought it was nothing special since it does that every now and then. But as soon as I retried, it restarted again. Next time, it restarted when I unlocked my phone. Now it restarts right after restarting, so it’s stuck in an infinite cycle of showing the Samsung Galaxy S9 logo over and over again. The only solution I’ve found is to keep my phone connected to a strong power-source. Normal charging through a cable plugged into a wall works and powerbanks work, but not plugging it into a PC. In other words, I can’t transfer important files from my phone to my PC. Sometimes I can leave it unplugged and powered on if I don’t use any apps that require internet. Also, for some reason, whenever it restarts, it delete all downloaded songs from Spotify.
Solution: It looks like the battery of the phone has an issue and causing this problem. You can verify this further by doing a factory reset. Since this will erase your phone data I suggest that you backup your data to the cloud first before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S9 Stuck In Reboot Cycle
Problem: Hi, My Samsung Galaxy S9 device is stuck in a reboot loop and I don’t know what to do. Last night I went to sleep with my phone playing music through Spotify. When I woke up this morning it was hot and is stuck in a reboot cycle. The device turns on until the lock screen, then freezes and restarts again. I have tried putting the phone into ‘Safe Mode’ and now it says safe mode in the bottom left of a black screen upon booting but is still suck in a loop. My phone storage has recently become fully occupied and often my apps auto-update overnight when I charge it so I wonder if this may be part of the problem. I have also friend entering the phone into recovery mode but have so far been unable to do so. Can you help me??
Solution: The best thing to do right now is to perform a factory reset from the recovery mode. To do this just follow the steps listed below.
- Turn OFF the phone
- Press and hold the following buttons for a few seconds, all at the same time: Power + Volume Up + Bixby button.
- After a few seconds, you should see the blue screen with an Android bot and a message saying, “Installing system update”
- after about 10 seconds, another blue screen will show up for a few seconds that will have the big ‘!’ logo and will say, “No command”
- Next, you will be presented with the Recovery Mode
- Navigate using the volume buttons to the factory reset option then use the power button to select the reset
Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this could be caused by a faulty hardware component. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center then have it checked.
