S9 Stuck In Optimizing Apps
Problem: My phone will freeze for several minutes then turn off. After about 30 mins it turns on and says “optimizing android 1 of 1” (or something like it) then that will continue for about 15 and then i switches on. This happens about 3 times a day
Solution: It looks like this problem is caused by a software glitch. The best thing you can do is to start the phone in recovery mode then do the following steps listed below.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone.
- Perform a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.
S9 Failed To Update Software Error
Problem: Hi, I downloaded an Oreo update but right after the whole update was downloaded, a “Failed to update software, Unable to update software. The downloaded file in invalid. Try again later.” error pop-out appears. So, after a while to “Try again later.”, I downloaded again. Still, the same error pops when all are downloaded. Was the update is for few models only? Do I have to configure something on my phone so be compatible?
Solution: It looks like the downloaded file might be corrupted. This could be due to a poor internet connection when the file was being downloaded. Try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode then download the update again. Make sure to connect your phone to a strong Wi-Fi network when you download the update. It’s also best to try to update your phone with the help of Smart Switch. This is a software which helps manage your phone. You can download this software from the Samsung website and install it in your computer.
If the issue still persists then you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete proceed with the software update again.
S9 Reboots Randomly
Problem: Hello I have a Samsung S9 and it has been working perfectly but it is now super slow ,freezing resetting and having problems rebooting. Using your troubleshooting steps I tried 2. And 3. Wiping data resetting phone and wiping cache. Now the Phone works really fast again but reboots every 15 mins ??? What else can I do ? Is this a hardware issue or software? Also everytime I go into recovery mode it starts “installing update” Then says “no program found”..
Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try removing this card as it might have corrupt sectors which is causing the phone to reboot.
You also need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then this might already be caused by a faulty hardware component in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S9 Screen Is Unresponsive After Drop
Problem: I dropped my Galaxy S9 in the toilet. The phone will turn on but the screen is unresponsive so I can’t access any options or menus. I downloaded a program that was supposed to extract the data but it keeps failing. When I press the home key, volume down button and the power button it says downloading but it does nothing… My engagement and wedding pictures are on here… PLEASE HELP!!
Solution: It looks like the digitizer of the phone got damaged by the drop. You can try starting the phone in Safe Mode and check if the screen works in this mode. If it does then you can backup your phone data. After the backup you can do a factory reset.
In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked. It’s very likely that the display assembly will have to be replaced.
