How to Force Reboot Galaxy S6 Edge+

It is imperative you now how to perform this very simple procedure because it is very helpful when your new phone freezes or becomes unresponsive for some reason. The new S6 Edge+ doesn’t have a removable battery so you couldn’t do the battery pull in order to turn off the phone forcibly. Wipe Cache Partition on Galaxy S6 Edge+

For minor firmware-related issues brought by apps and firmware updates, wiping the cache partition often does the trick. It’s because this procedure will literally delete all cached files in the cache partition, which will force the system to create new ones during the next boot up.

1. Turn off the device.
2. Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, and Power key.
3. When the phone vibrates, release the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key.
4. When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
5. Press the Volume Down key to highlight ‘wipe cache partition.’
6. Press the Power key to select.
7. When the wipe cache partition is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
8. Press the Power key to restart the device.

How to Factory Reset Galaxy S6 Edge+

For serious firmware-related issues, the factory reset is often the ultimate fix. It’s because it will bring the phone back to its factory defaults deleting all files, data, settings, apps, personal information, accounts, etc. In short, if there are things you don’t want to lose during the process, you must back them up prior to performing the Factory reset.

1. From the Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
2. Find and tap the Settings icon.
3. Under the ‘Personal’ section, find and tap Backup and reset.
4. Tap Factory data reset.
5. Touch Reset device to proceed with the reset.
6. Depending on the security lock you used, enter the PIN or password.
7. Tap Continue.
8. Touch Delete all to confirm your action.

All data deleted after the reset cannot be retrieved.

How to perform Master Reset on Galaxy S6 Edge+

Factory Reset and Master Reset offer the same results, although the latter is more thorough considering it doesn’t just delete everything but also reformat the data partition where most system files are saved. You can also use this procedure in case you cannot access Settings or if the phone cannot boot up successfully into Android GUI.

You will be required to boot in Recovery Mode just like wiping the cache partition as it is there you can find the option for the reset.

1. Turn off your Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge.
2. Press and hold the Volume Up, Home and Power keys together.
3. When the device powers on and displays ‘Power on logo’, release all keys and the Android icon will appear on the screen.
4. Wait until the Android Recovery Screen appears after about 30 seconds.
5. Using the Volume Down key, highlight the option, ‘wipe data/factory reset’ and press the Power key to select it.
6. Press the Vol Down button again until the option ‘Yes — delete all user data’ is highlighted and then press the Power key to select it.
7. After the reset is complete, highlight ‘Reboot system now’ and hit the Power key to restart the phone.

Same as Factory Reset, all your data will be deleted as well as everything inside the phone’s internal storage.
