Note 4 Keeps On Restarting With New Battery

Problem: I have purchased a new battery for my Samsung Galaxy Note 4. I have charged the battery with the phone off till it is 100%. However when I switch the phone on it keeps restarting. If I put the old battery in it boots up fine.

Solution: There’s a possibility that the new battery you purchased is defective. Is this an original Samsung battery or is it manufactured by a third party company? If it is the latter then there’s a bigger possibility that something is wrong with the battery.

To troubleshoot this problem you will need to check if the phone software is causing the problem by backing up your phone data then doing a factory reset. If after the reset the problem still occurs then you should have the new battery replaced.

Note 4 Does Not Wirelessly Charge

Problem: Hello, My Note 4 does not wirelessly charge. I have installed the Samsung wireless charging cover and using two different charging pads neither has worked. However my S4 that I purchased a charging cover for does work on both pads. Interestingly enough if I place my S4 on either charging pad and wait for the connection to be made, if I remove the S4 and place the Note 4 on the pad the Note 4 tells me that wireless charging it on, within a second or two the light on the pad turns off.

Solution: Right now we know that the wireless charging pad is working. What you need to do right now is to try to use a different wall charger and charging cord with the charging pad. Make sure that the wall charger has an output rating of 2 Amps. It would also be better if you used the Samsung Adaptive Fast Charging Wall Charger. If the problem still occurs then you should try changing the Samsung wireless charging cover of your phone.

Note 4 Keeps Rebooting And Restarting

Problem: I recently got the note 4 and when I first got it everything seemed fine. Then recently the phone keeps rebooting and restarting on its own and when I put it on standby it has an issue being able to get of standby, I’ve tried taking the battery out and back in and turning it on and then sometimes it won’t start after several times. It also ones went into an error reboot mode and started downloading something.

Solution: Do you have a microSD card installed in your phone? This card can sometimes cause the phone to freeze or crash. Try removing this card then check if the problem still occurs.

If you don’t have a microSD card installed or if the issue still occurs even after removing the card then proceed with the following troubleshooting steps listed  below. Move to the next step if the issue still occurs after performing the current step.

  • Try starting the phone in Safe Mode. When you start the phone in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are prevented from running. Check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by a downloaded app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Check if the issue occurs when the phone is connected to its wall charger. If the phone works normally in this mode then the problem could be caused by a faulty battery. You should try to replace this battery with a new one.
  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the issue still occurs even after performing the steps listed above then you need to have this checked at a service center.

Note 4 Reboots After Latest Software Update

Problem: own a galaxy note 4 edge love the phone but with the latest updates on the phone was caused my phone to reboot while using an app. even though I have 80% battery life  It also occurs when i pull out my s pen to use and my battery life is at 65%.  Is there any kind of fix to this issue?

Solution: If this problem occured right after a software update then there’s a possibility that it is caused by some form of odl software data that has not been completely removed during the update process. What you will need to do in this case is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install anything in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then you should consider the following additional steps listed below.

  • Manually flash your phone with its updated stock firmware file.
  • Bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Does Not Completely Charge

Problem: I have a samsung note 4 my phone will only charge to 70 to 80 percent dies at 30% , but also dies with in 1hr of using i have done a hard reset cleared all the cache etc and replaced it with a new battery

Solution: You have already done the necessary troubleshooting steps required for this particular problem. Since the phone is still suffering from this issue then chances are it could be caused by an internal component that is failing to work possibly the power IC. I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have this checked.

Note 4 Freezes Restarting

Problem: Samsung galaxy Note 4 started freezing, restarting, sometimes going to the boot mode (black screen with green android guy). Had resetted phone to factory settings. not helped. Battery is fairly new. 3-4 month

Related Problem: My note 4 has issues, many many issues,it started a month ago, its freezes, shuts down apps, reboots itself many many times a day, and get stuck on downloading do not turn off target.. when i do get it on it stays ok for maybe 30 mins to 1 hr but other than that i just keep it off until i need it. I have tried to factory reset and it was ok for about 2 weeks then started again..

Solution: Try checking if the issue occurs when the phone is connected to its wall charger. If the problem does not occur then you should try replacing the battery as this problem could be caused by a faulty battery. If the problem persists then this is most likely caused by an internal component that is failing to work. You will need to have this checked at a service center if this is the case.

Note 4 Randomly Shut Off Not Turning On

Problem: My samsung galaxy note 4 randomly shut off and wont turn on anymore. I plug it in a It still won’t have any response from the phone what do i do

Solution: To eliminate the possibility of this problem being caused by a drained battery you should perform the following troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port.
  • Remove the battery and microSD card of the phone ( if one is installed). Press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This will discharge the phone circuit then clear out its RAM.
  • Reinsert the battery then try charging your phone using a charging cord and wall charger that have been tested to work.
  • Try charging your phone from a computer USB port.

If your phone does not respond then this could already be a hardware related issue in which case you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Freezes Then Restarts

Problem: good day,  i recently connected my phone to a PC (i think has a virus on it) to copy a media file from it. since then i noticed that the phone become slower even freezing while trying to open apps and eventually restarts. my SD card was also corrupted that i had to format it. These issues persists even when the phone is connected to a charger. I have done a soft reset and even a factory reset but the problem is still persisting. Any useful advice will be really appreciated as this challenge has robbed me of some peace. Thanks a bunch

Solution: Does the problem still occur with the SD card removed? If it does then it looks like the problem is caused by an internal component that is failing to work. I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
