Note 4 Freezing And Rebooting

Problem: Hello, I bought a Unlocked Samsung Galaxy Note 4 phone off a person on craigslist. Originally the phone is from Tmobile but i am using it with ATT.  So I went home and did a factory reset on it. I put in my micro sd card and sim card and starting using it. I downloaded some apps and that’s when it starting doing the freezing and restarting. I then ran the phone on safe mode to see how it would do and It worked really good.  I then went back on reg mode and deleted apps and still kept freezing and re booting. I took out the microsd card yesterday thinking that could be it but phone is still doing the same thing. Sometimes the phone shuts off and doesn’t want to start up again so i have to take the battery out for about 15-20 min before it starts working again. I was able to get it started again and i did another factory reset on it without the micro sd card and same issues. The phone got slow again, froze and shut off. Please help me!

Related Problem: Note 4 still freezing, restarting and not booting after factory reset. Battery must be left out for about 10 minutes before it boots. If I try too soon it won’t do anything. Can’t Safe Boot. Thanks for your help!

Related Problem: Hello  The issue started few days ago my phone is lagging and then it will freeze and reboot. I did the factory reset few times but the issue is still there  Not sure what else to do . Is there any way i can diagnose if there is an issue with the motherboard or the internal storage?  Is there any way to try downgrading the OS version to 5 ?  Thank you

Related Problem: Since upgrading to 6.0.1, my phone randomly freezes and reboots. I’ve wiped the cache partition and reset to factory default twice without  loading any backup date. After the reset ATT sends a device update and it fails.

Solution: There are several factors that can contribute to the phone freezing and rebooting. On top of the list are rogue apps that you might have installed in your device. A corrupt system software, your microSD card, or a faulty battery are also primary suspects. To troubleshoot this problem you need to perform the troubleshooting steps listed below. Check if the issue still occurs after performing each step then move to the next if it does.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. If the issue doesn’t occur in Safe Mode then the problem could be caused by an app you installed. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Try removing the microSD card.
  • Check if the issue occurs when the phone is connected to its charger. If it doesn’t then you should consider getting a new battery.
  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then this could already be caused by an internal component that is failing to work. You will need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.

Note 4 Can’t Upgrade Software Version

Problem: I bought my samsung galaxy note 4 online but to upgrade i can’t, cuz the AT&T don’t let me upgrade it stay 4.4.4 version. I heard about firmware but don’t know how to use it neader do it on my pc. Pls help to instruct me how to fix it.

Solution: There are several reasons why your phone can’t get the latest software update which we have listed below.

  • Your phone is rooted.
  • Your phone is running on a custom software.
  • If your phone was unlocked then it should be running on its original network.

You can try manually updating your phone by using Kies. Connect your phone using a USB cord to a computer with KIes running. You will be notified if an update is available. If no update is available then backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete use Kies again to update your phone.

Should the above steps fail then you need to manually flash the updated firmware file to your phone. Download the updated AT&T firmware file for your phone from the Sammobile website. You will also find detailed instructions on how to flash your phone from the website.

Note 4 Freezes When Taken Out Of Sleep Mode

Problem: hi i have note 4 with latest update android 6.0.1 i ‘ m having trouble with deep sleep . when my phone sleep or i switch off the screen after a while when i switch on it get freezed nothing is working and when i click many times button front home button or power button it restart because it got much work. now i’m using wakelock for not being freezing but with this method i’m getting battery horribly draining and the phone not freezing. tried hard reset , not working . i guess the problem is with system files itself . or android system . how can i fix this please.

Solution: For this particular problem you will need to perform a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data first before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete don’t install any apps yet in your phone. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then this is most likely a hardware related problem already in which case you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Unfortunately Phone Has Stopped Working After Software Update

Problem: About three weeks ago I did a software update on my note 4 and since then whenever I get a phone call.. A pop up keeps saying.. Unfortunately phone has stopped working.. And when I select OK it keeps coming back up.. It doesn’t happen to all my calls but a good amount of them..

Solution: This problem is usually caused by some form of old software data that was not deleted during the upgrade process. The best way to deal with this issue is to do a factory reset. Just make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

Note 4 Very Slow Shuts Off On Its Own

Problem: Hi, my note 4 recently has been very slow ,it freezes and shuts off by itself for no reason .I’ve tried the methods you recommended but even when i was trying to wipe the cache partition it froze. I also did a factory reset and it still would freeze. Any help would be great .

Solution: Do you have a microSD card installed in your phone? If you have one then try removing it as this could also cause this kind of problem. If you don’t have a card installed or if the issue still occurs even after removing the card then you should consider manually flashing your phone with its updated firmware file. Instructions on how to do this can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then this could already be caused by a faulty internal hardware component. If this is the case then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
