J7 Overheating After Getting Wet

Problem: please help me my sumsung j7 prime is overheating because it falls down into water i can only use the contact and all the other apps don’t work and i can’t charge it. Also, the sound doesn’t work I just turned off my phone. please I need your help

Solution: Since your phone got wet then the best thing that you can do right now is to make sure that the phone is dry. If your have the variant with the removable battery then I suggest that you remove the battery of your phone. In case you have the phone with the non-removable battery then leave it as it is. You should also remove the SIM card and microSD card of the phone. Turn off the device then place it in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone. Once this is done try checking if the issue still occurs. If it does then the phone might be water damaged already in which case you will need to bring this to a service center and have it checked.

J7 Screen Brightness Is Low Turns Off On Its Own After Rooting

Problem: Hi. I have Samsung Galaxy J7.  I wanted to flash a fresh stock ROM in the device because it was lagging so i rooted the device by installing I-Root application Play Store and rooted the device. I successfully rooted the device which i made sure by checking it from a root checker application from Play store. I then installed Quick Reboot (ROOT) application from Play store and granted root access to the application and restarted the device into recovery through this application. Since then the device is non-responsive when i try to power on the device by pressing power key the screen shows very low brightness and then turns off. when i put the device on charging no led notification is showing but the phone is heating up which shows its charging. I have tried to connect the device with computer through data cable but same happens screen shows very low brightness and then turns off, computer shows installing drivers for your device and then says device is disconnected. I have tried all key combinations for entering into recovery, download mode etc but in vain the response is same as above i.e. screen shows very low brightness and then turns off. I am very upset and want to fix it myself please help. Note: Device is not liquid or break damaged it’s just that which i explained above. Please Help!!

Solution: It looks like the rooting process might have corrupted the phone software. The best thing that you can do right now is to flash the phone with its updated firmware file. You can get the firmware file from the Sammobile website. You can also get the instructions on how to flash your phone from this website. Take note though that when you flash your phone your personal phone data will be erased.

J7 Completely Frozen

Problem: My phone is completely frozen, power button not working and screen is stuck cannot do anything to turn off or reset please help

Solution: If you have the model with the removable battery then I suggest that you remove this. You should also remove the microSD card of the phone if you have one installed. Once this is done press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This will discharge the phone circuit and clear out its RAM. Reinsert just the battery then turn on the phone.

In case you own the model with the non-user removable battery then just remove the microSD card of the phone then press and hold both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.

In case the issue persists then proceed with the steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. When your phone operates in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. Check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

J7 Slow After Software Update

Problem: There was an update on the galaxy j7 that was done. Since then my email and settings have a delay when I go to bring it up. It’s about 15 second delay when the screen finally comes up. Can you help? Thank you

Solution: Sometimes after a software update certain issues will occur on the phone. This is usually attributed to some old software data that has not been completely removed from the device. To fix this particular problem you will need to perform the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Backup your phone data.
  • Start the phone in recovery mode then wipe the cache partition of the device.
  • Perform a factory reset also in recovery mode.

J7 Charges Slowly After Software Update

Problem: Since i updated to 6.0.1 my phone charges super slowly . It also takes forever to load my settings app or my texting app. Everything is just super slow. Any ideas?

Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this case is to address the slow charging problem by following the troubleshooting steps listed below

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port.
  • Try charging the phone with its wall charger.
  • If the issue persists then try using a different charging cord and wall charger.
  • You might also want to check if the issue occurs with a new battery installed ( this can be done if you have the variant with the removable battery)

The slow operating of the phone can be addressed by the following troubleshooting steps.

  • If your phone has a microSD card installed then try removing it.
  • Backup your phone data.
  • Start the phone in recovery mode then wipe the cache partition of the phone. Follow this up with a factory reset.

J7 Screen Flickers And Freezes

Problem: Purchased galaxy j7 prime approx 3 wks ago – screen flickers and freezes up – turn it off then on again and fixes problem for a while – very annoying!

Solution: If restarting the phone temporarily fixes the problem then this could be a software related problem which can be fixed by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. If the issue does not occur when the phone operates in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the issue still occurs even after performing the steps listed above then there’s a possibility that the problem is caused by a faulty hardware component. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.
