Solution: The best way to get your phone out of download mode is to simultaneously press the power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds until the phone restarts. In case the phone starts again in download mode then you need to restart your phone in recovery mode and from here perform a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

S7 Edge Screen Flickering On And Off

Problem: I live a very eventful life as a junior in high school and it is that time of year, so my student council was throwing a Christmas Party. My phone by that point was almost dead after we took many pictures so I, along with a few others, plugged up our phones behind a recliner and had them sitting on the kitchen counter. We proceeding into the living room as more people began to arrive. By 7 pm or so, the room was crowded and people were trying to squeeze through small spaces to get to the kitchen. Someone thought it would be a good idea to squeeze behind an inch thick space between the counter and recliner where everyone’s chargers were draped. All of our phones fell to the ground but mine (the only android among the IPhones) started flashing green and flickering on and off. The screen was already slightly cracked; that wasn’t the issue. It was flickering in such a way with bright green, purple, and white with flecks of pixelated yellow and red in a spastic manner, someone decided to tape a piece of paper that read, “CAUTION: Epilepsy Warning!” It still functions “properly” but I am running off of pure memorization since I can’t see the screen at all. Luckily, I can still receive calls so it’s not all bad. I just need help or something I can do because my family is already financially stressed… it’s bad… So, please help me in any way you can!

Solution: Since the display of the phone has suffered from physical damage the best way to fix this problem is to have the display assembly replaced at a service center. You can also replace the display yourself however you will need to order the correct part, have the correct tools, and refer to a tutorial guide on how to replace a broken S7 Edge screen ( you can search for this at YouTube).

S7 Edge Not Making Calls

Problem: I have a samsung galaxy S7 Edge purchased in the us in nov 2016.I live in China and have not had this problem before. I returned from a us trip to China and my local China sim no longer works for calls. For texts and data there is no problem. I went to the local China Mobile and they checked the sim in another phone and call are no problem. They also put another sim into my phone and it Also didn’t work for calls. They say it’s a Samsung phone issue. I can’t figure out what changed after my us trip. Any advice?

Solution: Try checking if the issue also occurs when the phone in started in Safe Mode. If you can make calls in this mode then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. In case the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then you should consider backing up your phone data then do a factory reset.

S7 Not Charging Not Turning On

Problem: My daughters iphone 6 plus died and she decided to try an Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. We found a fairly new one in “excellent” condition on Swappa for $325. She really like it until 3 wks later she realized it was about to die and she was trying to plug it in to charge and it died. She plugged it in and waited for the battery sign and it never powered back on at all. I’ve tried all kinds of tips online and nothing is working. She’s 16 and used it alot in the last 3 wks. We weren’t sure if the battery may be bad. We’ve tried everything online and nothing has worked.

Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this particular case is to simulate a battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If it doesn’t then you will need to make sure that the battery has sufficient charge by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in it is removed.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using its wall charger.
  • If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also try charging the phone from a computer USB port.
  • Turn on the phone.

If the above steps don’t work then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a hardware component that is failing to work properly.

S7 Edge Takes too Long to Wake From Sleep

Problem: My Samsung galaxy s7 edge is slow to wake up. Also my messages in my texts says they failed to send but they do get sent and I end up sending 3-4 texts of the same text because my phone says it hasn’t been sent.

Solution: It’s very likely that this is caused by a software glitch. To fix this problem perform the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
