J7 Screen Not Working But Phone Is Responding

Problem: my screen is not working but still responding like i am receiving phone calls and even i can answer by scrolling on correct spot . before my cellphone fell for 2-3 times and there was some error occured on screen (whenever i put my screen light to very dim/low  its half screen start getting  blink with different colour and when its very low battery same things happened )but it was still working good but last 2 days before my iron fell on it ,like not from the height just fell on upper side of screen because my iron was kept beside my galaxy j7 .so after that this issue occurred . i just want to know do we get original screen from store and if yes where?

Solution: It appears that the display has already been physically damaged. The best thing that you can do in a situation like this is to bring the phone to a service center since they will have the correct tools available to replace the display.

In case you would like to replace the display yourself then I suggest that you first watch some tutorial over at YouTube on how to replace the display of this particular device. If the procedure looks easy then just order the correct display of your device from eBay or other online stores. You should also make sure to have the correct tools available to perform this procedure.

J7 Has Lightning Bolt With Caution Sign When Charging

Problem: Hello, just recently (about 2 hours prior), my phone (Galaxy J7 Duos) shut down due to its battery running out. I went home and recharged it, but the screen went from the battery with a lightning bolt to the battery with a caution sign, then the phone vibrates, then it reboots and do the same thing over again. My phone haven’t been fully charged for about two days, just halfway through since I had to travel abroad. Is there anything I can do without purchasing a new battery?

Solution: You can try the following troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port gets removed.
  • Try charging the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger.
  • To check if the problem is caused by a software glitch you should do a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then this could already be a hardware related problem most likely caused by a faulty battery, charging port, or power IC. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

J7 Screen Is Flickering

Problem: My phone samsung galaxy j7…i often have problem with the screen flickering issue..whenever my mobile is in low brightness i can see the flickering of screen but when on full brightness it not there…plz solve the problem!!

Related Problem: My j7 screen is continuously flickering very fast in low backlight, but when increasing the brightness flickering won’t been seen. Will it damage my screen in future. service centre said they are going to charge rs 7000 for this. I am unable to pay such a huge amount

Solution: There’s a possibility that this screen flickering is caused by a software glitch. To check if this is the case follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone operates in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. Check if the problem occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the problem still occurs.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then this might already be a hardware related issue. Try to disable the auto brightness feature of the phone then check if the screen still flickers. If it doesn’t then this might be due to a faulty sensor.

Another factor that can cause this problem is the uneven distribution of power the AMOLED cells thus causing the display to flicker.

The best thing to do in case this is already a hardware related problem is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

J7 Not Turning On If Disconnected From Charger

Problem: My phone was 100% charged. When I disconnected the charger, the screen went black. No matter which buttons I pressed, it won’t turn back on. But everything was fine when I reconnected my charger. And when the charger was disconnected, the whole thing happened again. Why did this happen? How do I fix it. Thanks

Solution: It looks like the phone has a faulty battery or power IC. If you have the model that has a removable battery then try replacing the battery with a new one. Otherwise, just bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

J7 Not Turning On After Getting Wet

Problem: my phone fell in water and then after a few hours my screen went black….i turned it on….it did twice but then again it turned off and now isn’t turning on anymore…all my switches were working…just the screen went black.

Solution: If your phone came into contact with water then the first thing that you should do is to wipe it thoroughly with a dry cloth. In case you own the model with the removable battery then you should take this out from the phone. Take out the SIM card and microSD card as well then place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. If you own the model that has a non-removable battery then just proceed by placing the phone in a bag of rice for 48 hours. The rice will absorb any moisture inside the phone. Once this is done try to check if the phone can turn on.

If the issue remains then it might already be water damaged in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

J7 Calls Get Dropped

Problem: I purchased a new Samsung J7 from IN HiFi today, charged the phone, then made a few calls. On the third Call my phone just dropped out after a minute and then again a second time after a minute or so. It’s very frustrating as I just got rid of my galaxy s5 as it was doing the same thing

Solution: The first thing that you should do in this particular case is to restart the phone. This will reset the phone connection to the network and refresh the phone software. In case the issue still occurs after this then try to check if this is a carrier related problem by inserting the SIM card to another phone then make a call with this other phone. In case the call gets dropped then you will need to contact your carrier regarding this matter.

If the issue does not occur with the SIM inserted in another phone then what you will want to do is to reinsert the SIM card to the J7 then perform a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try checking first if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

  2. I have updated my phone (SM-J710GN) from Marshmallow to Nougat using normal system update and after the download, phone rebooted and then touch screen no longer responds. (works without problem when phone is still running Marshmallow)

    Have tried the following:
    – Soft reset; hard reset; cleared cache
    – tried flashing latest 7.0 firmware from Sammobile but problem still persists
    – tried emergency recovery through Smart Switch but getting error : please check model name and S/N and enter it again
    – unable to flash previous 6.0.1 firmware through odin; getting error – Check Fail Device 4; Binary 3

Don’t wish to pay for LCD replacement if there’s an alternative solution that I can try. Can anyone help me with this please?

  3. My recently bought Samsung j7 2016 is showing errors in the display. The constellation of stars start to appear . Saltier it was more black and now it’s turning grey. It’s white at the sides. Screen still works but shows only this. After 2-3 times it starts showing the display again. Whenever I attend a call and talk for more than 10 minutes. It starts doing the same thing. Once I switch it off for a while, it works fine again.
    Please help me with this.
