Fix #1: Force stop the game and restart your PC

There are times when the game won’t launch but its service runs in the background. This would make your computer think that the game itself is already running. As a result, it won’t open no matter how many times you double-click its icon. The first thing you can do about it is to force stop the service and then refresh your PC’s memory. Here’s how you do that:

  1. Press the CTRL, ALT and Delete keys at the same time.
  2. Click Task Manager.
  3. Once the window pops up, look for Muck and click on it.
  4. Now click on the End task button at the lower-right corner of the window to close it.
  5. To restart your PC, click on the Start button, and then Power.
  6. Click Restart, and then wait until the reboot is finished.

Once the reboot is complete, launch Muck again and see if the problem is fixed.

Fix #2: Verify integrity of game files

After the first solution and Muck is still not launching, then it’s possible that some of its game files are corrupted or missing. So what you have to do next is to let the Steam client scan and repair the game files. Here’s how you do that:

  1. Launch the Steam client.
  2. Navigate to the Library tab, right-click on Muck and click Properties.
  3. Navigate to Local Files and then click Verify integrity of game files.
  4. Wait until the verification is finished.

After the client has finished scanning and repairing the files, launch Muck and see if the problem is fixed.

Fix #3: Uninstall Muck and reinstall it

Your last resort will be to remove the game from your computer completely. Doing so will also delete all its files and association with the system and other apps. After which, download a fresh copy from Steam and that should take care of the problem. Follow these steps to uninstall Muck:

  1. Launch the Steam client.
  2. Navigate to the Library tab and right-click on Muck.
  3. Hover over Manage, and click Uninstall.
  4. Click Uninstall one more time to remove the game from your computer.
  5. After the game is uninstalled, restart your PC.
  6. Download the game and re-install it.
