How to take a screenshot on Pixel 3 smartphone

Taking a screenshot on Google Pixel is similar to taking screenshots to most of Android devices. Needless to say, it’s easy and straightforward. It would only take a few seconds and you can already have a high resolution shot of the screen you want captured. Let me walk you through on how to take a screenshot on your new Google Pixel device.

Before we move on to our troubleshooting, if you found this post while trying to find a solution to a problem, then visit our Google Pixel 3 troubleshooting page for we have already addressed some of the most common problems with this phone. We may have already published articles that could help you fix your problem.

Method 1: Holding down the Power button

That’s right. Just by holding down the power key on the right side of your phone will already allow you to take a screenshot as there will an option that will pop up on the screen. Here’s how you do it using this method…

  1. Navigate to the screen or page you want to capture. It’s advisable to close all other apps and webpages to make sure your Google Pixel phone can capture what you intend to take a screenshot of.
  2. Now, press and hold the Power button for at least 3 seconds. This will show an option menu.
  3. Choose Screenshot from the options. You will see the screenshot animation shortly after that and a notification will pop up.
  4. If you want to review the screenshot, just pull the notification bar down to view it. You have an option to share or delete it right from the notification bar.

Method 2: Take a Screenhot using Two-button combo

You need to perform at least a couple of actions when you take a screenshot using the first method but in this method, you only need one action but you need to correctly perform the combination. Here’s how to do:

  1. Navigate to the screen you want to capture and steer clear of other apps and pages.
  2. Press and hold both volume down key and power button for a couple of seconds.
  3. The screenshot animation will show on the screen as a confirmation that the process is successfully done.
  4. You can review the screenshot and manage it right from the notification bar.

Method 3: Take A Screenshot on Pixel Using Google Assistant

Lastly, you can take a screenshot using your voice with Google Assistant. This is how you do it:

  1. Press and hold home button to turn on the Google Assistant function.
  2. Tap on the microphone icon.
  3. Now say the phrase “take a screenshot.”
  4. The screenshot animation will show on the screen of your Google Pixel as a confirmation that the process is successfully done.
  5. You can review the screenshot and manage it right from the notification bar.

If you missed the chance to review the screenshot from the notification bar, then you can view it by opening the Photos app and then tap the Menu icon (the icon with 3 lines). Look and tap on Device folders and look for a folder the says Screenshots. This is where all screenshots are being saved by default. You may view and/or manage them here or you can rename the folder to fit to your liking.

These methods will also work on other Google Pixel phones. I hope that this simple tutorial has been helpful.
