How to fix your LG V35 ThinQ that won’t turn on (easy steps)

The LG V35 ThinQ comes packed with really good hardware specs and features and when it comes to LG’s V series, this is by far the best. But just like any other smartphones, it’s not free of issues and problems. The most common problem you may encounter if you own this phone is related to its power wherein the device may become unresponsive from time to time and would not respond to your touches. It has happened to previous V models and it could happen to the V35 ThinQ.

In this post, I will share with you the solution you can use if your new phone turns off by itself or no longer responds. We’ve already addressed similar issues in the past and many of those problems occurred without apparent reason or cause. What to do if your LG V35 ThinQ won’t turn on

While this issue may seem like a serious hardware issue, most of the time it’s just a minor firmware problem and you can actually fix it on your own without having to employ the services of a technician. That is if the phone doesn’t have any signs of physical and/or liquid damage. In which case, here’s what you should do about it:

First solution: Forced reboot

That’s right! A restart can fix this issue but it’s not just a normal reboot because your phone won’t respond no matter how long your press and hold the Power key. What you need to do is Forced Reboot which is the equivalent of the battery pull procedure. This is the most effective method to fix firmware crashes or any minor system issues. Here’s how you do it:

• Press and hold the volume down and power keys together for 10 seconds or more.

If successful, your phone may reboot normally. However, if your phone still won’t respond, do it a couple more times or you may try this.

1. Press and hold the volume down button and don’t release it.
2. Then, press and hold the power key while holding down the volume button.
3. Keep both keys held down for 8 seconds or more.

The second procedure is basically the same as with the first only that we’re making sure that you’re pressing the Power key after the Volume Down because doing otherwise won’t give you similar results.

However, if your LG V35 ThinQ is still not responding to this, then move on to the next solution.

Second solution: Charge and force restart

After doing the first solution and your phone is still not responding, it’s possible that the battery has been drained. A battery drain is not really an issue but the thing is that if the hardware and firmware haven’t been properly shut down because you were using the phone when the battery ran out, it may result to a system crash and then you add the fact that the battery is empty. Naturally when your device crashes, it won’t respond to normal reboot procedure so you really have to do the first solution but then if the battery is drained, the device still won’t respond. To address this, here’s what you should do:

1. Plug the charger to a working wall outlet. It’s imperative you use the wired charger.
2. Using the original power / data cable, connect your phone to its charger.
3. Regardless whether the phone shows it’s charging or not, leave it connected to its charger for 10 minutes or more.
4. Press and hold the volume down button and don’t release it.
5. Then, press and hold the power key while holding down the volume button.
6. Keep both keys held down for 10 seconds or more.

If the problem was due to a system crash, then any of the two solutions would work and you could make your V35 ThinQ respond again.

However, if this problem is more than what we thought it is, then you should bring it back to the store where you bought it and have it replaced.
