S9+ Moisture Detected Error After Water Contact

Problem: I went to the beach today and took my phone in the water at the shore for 10 minutes . I have an S9+ . Bought it less than a month ago. It said moisture detected .I thought it needs a few hours to dry. But the notification never vanished. Couldn’t charge. I tried using a blow dryer and also a soft piece of tissue paper to gently wipe inside. It started charging when the phone was off due to low battery. I turned it on and it was slow charging with the original fast charger as well as the original Samsung battery pack. And then when it reached 43% I unplugged the charger .. it immediately said moisture detected. Stopped charging and now it isn’t charging at all.

Solution: Although this phone has a water resistant feature (IP68 certified making it dust/water proof up to 1.5m for 30 mins) the phone is not totally immune from any water damages. The moisture detected error that you are getting will usually trip if there is any presence of water or moisture in the charging port of the phone. To fix this you will usually just have to make sure that the charging port is dry, which you already have but then the issue still persists. What you will have to do next then is to try using a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone. If you have a wireless charger then you should also try using this.

In case the issue persists then the phone might have suffered from water damage. If this is the case then you should bring it to a service center and have it checked.

S9+ Black Screen After Getting Wet

Problem: My Samsung S9+ fell and some water spilled on it. I cleansed it and it was working fine. After few minutes the display the screen started shaking and brought out some codes after which the screen went completely blank. I tried to switch it off but the power button was not responding. As at now it has some white and green display. It is ringing out and I am able to pick calls on it.It also vibrates and I can charge it. Please advise me on how this can be fixed and confirm if this is a software or a problem with the screen. Thank you

Solution: It looks like water might have entered the phone and is now causing this problem. The best thing you can do right now is to place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb any moisture present in the phone. Once this is done charge the phone for at least 20 minutes then try turning it on by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons. If this does not fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S9+ Lagging Issue When Disconnected From Charger

Problem: I use my phone primarily for business with multiple business applied application on this phone. I keep this phone constantly charged. . When I have this phone plugged in to my home outlet there is absolutely no battery or performance issues or battery overheating but when I disconnected I have lagging and slow issues as I am texting this message. I have a car voltage inverter to support ac to my phone cause USB and 12 volt chargers are ineffective. When I use the inverter the battery eventually overheat and I have to reboot and the battery stays hot but if I completely turn off the phone and use the inverter it fully charged and when I turn it back on I get charging paused battery temp too hot and other error messages pop up

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to check if some software glitch is causing this problem by doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a hardware component that is failing to work properly.
