S7 Edge Screen Flickers After Phone Dropped
Problem: Hi, I recently dropped my phone which cracked the glass. For the first hour of using my phone, it was working fine before it started to flicker. I would put it on the brightest setting but after awhile, it would start flickering again. I also noticed that the upper right corner looked like it has some dead pixels, most likely from the drop. Sometimes the screen just emits bright white and leaving it alone for a couple hours would somehow make it better for a couple minutes. I tried to restart and reset the phone but it doesn’t help. Do you think it’s still possible to fix the phone? perhaps, by replacing the glass and lcd? Thank you! hope to hear from you soon!
Solution: The best way to fix this problem is to replace the display assembly of the phone. You can have this done at a service center.
S7 Edge Completely Froze
Problem: Hi, I was using my samsung s7 edge, when it completely froze, At first it wouldn’t even turn off, it just stayed on the screen. After about 20 seconds it finally turned off and went on to a black screen however now, I can’t get it to turn back on. I’ve tried putting it on charge, rebooting it, turning it on into safe mode, and recovery mode, I’ve tried using all the advice I’ve found online, but unfortunately I’m still just stuck with a blank black screen, my phone is new, I bought it 10 days ago, so I don’t think it’s an hardware problem! Because I didn’t put it at risk, it’s pretty new, and that’s weird because it’s dead now ! And yes does that mean my phone is fake because it’s says it was made in Vietnam? :/ I hope you can tell me what may have caused this issue.
Solution: Samsung has manufacturing plants in Vietnam which makes the S7 Edge so it’s likely that your phone is not fake. To fix the problem you should follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- If your phone has a microSD card installed then try removing it.
- Perform a simulated factory reset by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this.
- Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port gets removed.
- Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a charging cord and wall charger that’s tested to work on another device.
- Turn on the phone.
If the above steps doesn’t fix the problem then this could already be a hardware related problem in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Edge Gets Hot When Charging Drains Quickly
Problem: My phone gets really hot when charging it and when using it, also takes a long time to charge, it also drains quickly and is really slow.
Solution: It looks like the battery of the phone might already be faulty. To check if this is the case you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If after the reset the issue still persists then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked. It’s very likely that the phone battery will have to be replaced.
S7 Edge Randomly Freezes And Restarts
Problem: My s7 edge randomly freezes and restarts and when this happens the phone heats up. It keeps on restarting till I stop using it and putting it on charge. I have factory resetted the phone and that has made no difference. Its causing problems for me. I’m using the latest nougat software. Is there any solution to the problem? Thanks
Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it has one then try removing it then check if the issue still occurs.
If the problem persists and since you have already performed a factory reset which doesn’t fix the problem then this could already be caused by an internal component that is failing to work. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Edge Touchscreen Not Working
Problem: Hi my phone samsung galaxy s7 edge screen does not work.. i mean touch screen from mid of both edges not work.. i did everything like hard reset, put in safe mode etc but all in vain.. the good thing is that when i put it on charging and rapidly rub my finger to whole screen for 1 minute then it became works.. i think that the current does not pass through whole screen so that’s why some parts of touch screen is not working.. need your help plzz
Solution: It looks like the digitizer of the phone is faulty. Since this digitizer is fused to the display you will need to have the whole display assembly replaced. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Edge Stuck In Installing System Update Loop
Problem: Hey guys. I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge. At the moment is stuck in a “installing system update” loop. It updates up to 31% then it restarts on its own, starting updating again from 0% to 31%…it only does that. I have attempted to reset: volume key up/home button/power button…and so on but it doesn’t do anything other than restarting and going back to 0% to 31%
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode then perform the following.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone.
- Do a factory reset.
Take note that the above steps will delete your phone data.
S7 Edge Screen Is Flickering Green After Phone Got Dropped
Problem: A week ago there was a slight crack in the right side of the edge screen about midway, but a bit lower. However the phone was fine and still usable with no issues. A week later…My phone was charging in my truck, my daughter went to get out of my truck and got the cord caught on her flip flop. the phone went from the dash flying to the truck floor. It instantly did not work, the bottom half was flickering green and I could not see the normal screen with all my apps. However I can see the top half. I called Tmobile to pay the insurance and to my awful surprise they never added the insurance. So now I’m stuck with trying to fix it myself. I need help on how to do this myself or what is even wrong with it.
Solution: Because the display of your phone had an existing crack the drop might have further damaged the display. You will need to have the display assembly of the phone replaced at a service center.
S7 Edge Keeps On Freezing
Problem: Hi, I was using an app and suddenly it froze. After a restart it was normal for 2 hrs and the freezing issue started getting frequent from then. I booted into safe mode and checked by running play store and it froze again. After a factory reset also the problem persists. So I took it to samsung service center. They too tried resetting my phone and still the phone freezes. I wanted to know is this a motherboard issue?
Solution: This appears to be a hardware related problem already however each component of the phone should be checked in order to figure out what exactly is causing the problem. Replacing the motherboard could fix this problem however some components such as the power IC or the battery could also cause this problem so it’s best to start with those first.
S7 Edge Keeps On Restarting
Problem: Hello, please why is my Samsung galaxy s7 edge restarting every 5 mins, I got the fine some days back and just updated the OS. Every since it has been restarting at intervals. This is very annoying. I haven’t even been able to restore my data and apps. Please help
Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try taking out the card then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will have to perform a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
