S7 Edge Screen Glows Bright White

Problem: Screen glows bright white with no GUI available. Looks like graphics card problem. No other information can be read. https://goo.gl/photos/PGNCJ4CpBL99D9cs7. Can’t boot into safe mode, as this screen displays on any power up mode.

Solution: This appears to be a hardware related problem already possibly caused by a faulty display assembly or display controller. Try checking first if this is caused by a software issue by starting the phone in recovery mode. If the display works in this mode then you should do a factory reset here. Take note that this will erase your phone data. If the problem still occurs even in this mode then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Edge Screen Becomes Black When Opening Apps

Problem: My phone will wake up and I am able to see the screen. But when I open an app, it will open for about 1 second. Then the screen goes black. I have tried restarting and a simple reboot. Help please.

Related Problem: Dropped my galaxy s7 edge. The screen is fine , no cracks or marks. It turns on but the screen just freaks and spazzes the whole. Can click on apps but then the screen goes completely black.

Solution: Try checking if the issue occurs in Safe Mode. When your phone is started in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are prevented from running. If the problem doesn’t occur in this mode then it could be caused by a downloaded app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. If the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then try wiping the cache partition of your phone in recovery mode. If this doesn’t work then proceed with doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

Should the above steps fail to fix the problem then I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Edge Black Screen of Death

Problem: Black screen of death on s7 edge. My phone got screen replacement and now causing this problem. I tried so many things but no use. When it is fully charged i can not use the phone until it discharge to 70-80%. Went to repair shop and they are saying “it is a board issue but not screen issue” without checking it. And not replacing my screen. So please tell me that it is a screen issue or the board issue.

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to eliminate any software glitches that could be causing this problem. Start your phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it’s possible that an app you downloaded is causing the problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. If the issue still occurs in Safe Mode then I recommend that you do a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then this could already be a hardware related issue. Unfortunately we can’t know if it is a display or motherboard problem unless it is checked at a service center.

S7 Edge Half The Screen Turned White

Problem: Half of the screen just suddenly turned white and disrupted me from using my phone. I did not do anything to my phone prior to that, it was only resting on the table. What could have possible happened?

Solution: This issue could be caused by a damaged display assembly. You should however check if this is caused by a software glitch by performing the steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. Does the problem occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then this could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Start the phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition. Restart the phone then check if the issue still occurs.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Check if the issue still occurs.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
