This is also what we call a Forced Reboot and you it will be helpful in dealing with a device that got frozen or unresponsive for some reason. It should be done instead of pulling the battery out since the V40 ThinQ has a non-removable battery. Your phone is also hard-wired to perform this procedure provided it’s done correctly. In addition to that, only the mobile data connection will be left turned on so if you want to connect to a wifi network, you will have to enable it and allow your phone to scan the area for available hotspots. This procedure is, of course, very effective against network issues and here’s how you do it:

  1. From the Home screen, Settings.

How to perform the Factory Reset on LG V40 ThinQ

A factory reset will always have a big impact on the firmware as well as to your phone’s overall performance simply because it will bring the device to its default configuration wherein the phone will become like it’s fresh from the box. This is what you need to do if you don’t know what the problem is or if you don’t know how to fix it. Before doing this though, make sure to backup all your important files and data as they will be deleted. Here’s how you perform the factory reset on your LG V40 ThinQ:

  1. Back up data on the internal memory before performing a master reset.
  2. From the Home screen, Settings.

If not, then you have no other choice but to compromise them in exchange of fixing your device. Here’s how it’s done:

  1. Back up all data on the internal memory before performing a master reset.
  2. Turn off the device.
  3. Press and hold the Power and Volume down buttons.
  4. When the LG logo appears, quickly release and then re-hold the Power button while continuing to hold the Volume down button.
  5. When the ‘Delete all user data (including LG and carrier apps) and reset all settings’ message appears, use the Volume down button to highlight Yes.
