LG G6 Text Messages Takes Forever To Send

Problem: My husband and I just bought an LG G6 and we’re both having the same problem: text messages (especially picture messages) take forever to go through, and sometimes won’t go through at all. We both are showing excellent signal and can go online and make calls with no problem. Since it is happening to both of our phones I figured it’s a setting somewhere or something that we’re missing. I haven’t been able to find anything online and the sprint people at the store are kind of useless haha please let me know if you know of any way to resolve this. Thanks!

Related Problem: Two days ago my LG G6 started acting weird. My texts kept saying sending instead of sent. At least some did go through. Badge notifications aren’t updating after I go into app. Battery is draining twice as fast. Shutdown and restarted several times. Changed text app and that seems better, but notifications aren’t updating. Cleared cache. Any ideas?

Solution: If the problem is only isolated to sending text messages especially picture messages then the first thing that you should check is if the phone is getting a good mobile data signal. You als need to check if you have an active mobile data subscription since picture messages are usually sent using mobile data.

The next thing that needs to be checked is the APN settings of the phone. You will need to correct settings in your device in order to send and receive picture messages.

The APN settings for the Sprint network are as follows.

  • Name: Sprint
  • APN: cinet.spcs
  • Proxy: <Leave in Blank>
  • Port: <Leave in Blank>
  • Username:  <Leave in Blank>
  • Password:  <Leave in Blank>
  • Server: <Not Set>
  • MMSC: <Leave it blank>
  • MMS proxy: 68.28.31.7
  • MMS port: Blank
  • MCC: 3234
  • MNC: 15
  • Authentication type: <Leave in Blank>
  • APN type: just use the default one
  • APN Protocol: same, just leave it to the Default one

You should also make sure that your phone has the correct message number setting set which is +17044100000. You can view this number from the message settings.

In case your phone has the correct settings then you should proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Try clearing the cache and data of the text messaging app from the application manager. Check if the issue still occurs.
  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. Does the issue occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Try to check if the issue occurs in other locations. If it doesn’t then there might be a network issue in your area.
  • Try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

LG G6 Not Getting Notification Badges On Some Apps

Problem: Hi there, I receive notifications ok, but I only get a red pop up number on certain apps like Facebook. I do not get a red pop up number on Gmail and ebay. How can I change this? I have been trying to figure it for a while and have checked the settings on the phone and within the app. I appreciate your help

Solution: For this particular problem you should try clearing the cache and data of the Badgeprovider app from the application manager. Once this is done restart your phone then check if the issue still occurs.

LG G6 Not Getting The Correct Time

Problem: My phone is not holding the correct time when I am at work, it reads 4 hours ahead. When I leave work and go home, I have the correct time.

Related Problem: I have reset the phone. Reset data connection both on the device and Verizon did it on their end too. The only time the time will function properly is when I set it manually and turn off the Auto time/date & auto time/zone. Verizon techs have no answer except to exchange phone. I did that over the weekend and it still happened when I arrived at work today.  No one else around me who has Verizon is having the issue.

Solution: What you should do first in this case is to make sure that the phone is running on the latest software version. If it isn’t then I suggest that you update your phone first. Once this is done and the issue persists then perform the following troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. Does the issue still occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you need to have the phone checked at a service center.

LG G6 Not Getting Group Text

Problem: Recently switched to TMobile and have the LG G6 phone. I’m not receiving the original text in a group text, only replies from one person. My husband has the same phone, but doesn’t have any problems. Went to t mobile store and they didn’t know what the issue was or fix it either. Told me it was an Iphone to android issue. I’ve had android phones group text me, same issue. What can be done to correct this, please?

Solution: If the original sender of the group message is using an iPhone then have them check their Message setting and make sure that “Send as SMS” is turned on. This will allow the iMessage to be converted to text messages whenever the recipient is unable to view the iMessage. Once this is done have the sender delete the messaging thread from their phone. You should also delete the text messaging thread on your phone. Proceed with clearing the cache and data of your text messaging app. Have them start another group text then check if you can now receive all the messages. Just make sure that you have an active mobile data subscription and that the mobile switch of the phone is turned on since group texts usually use mobile data.

LG G6 Pictures Have Grey Bars

Problem: Grey bars when looking at pictures into gallery or Google photos. Not there on same pictures on other devices. On music player, tried different ones, songs cut off. Some missing altogether from SD card that worked perfectly with previous lg g5.

Solution: It’s very likely that the pictures stored in the microSD card have become corrupted. This can be due to some corrupt sectors in the microSD card. You can confirm this further by removing the card from the phone and letting your computer read the card. If the pictures still have grey bars then these pictures are corrupted. The best way to fix this is to get a new microSD card.

  1. Yesterday I purchased LG G6 and is facing problem sending test message.
For identifying problem I went to message setting, than advanced setting, than Test messge.
Subsequently changed Service CEntre address to +91 9810051914 and than saved it.
    Initially it was +7
However it again reverted to +7.
I am unable to send still.

  2. Hey,
so I have a very strange issue. When I reply to a text through the notification and it’s a long message, the message won’t send and I still have to go into the normal texting app and sending it through there. The text I wrote (and attempted to send) through the notification appears in the texting app, which is very strange. It just won’t send through the notification. Short texts send though.
Do you know anything about this?
I’m using the default texting app on the G6 and my phone is fully updated.
