How To Fix Spotify Keeps Logging You Out

Spotify is a popular digital audio streaming service that gives you access to a large library of music and podcasts. There are millions of songs that you can listen to from various genres and artists. If you love listening to true crime stories or get the latest gadget info from tech podcasts then you’ll definitely want to subscribe to this service.

You can create a free Spotify account which offers you the same unlimited access to its catalog of music and podcasts. There are however a few drawbacks to the free version of Spotify as this will usually have intrusive ads playing frequently. You are also limited to the number of skips that you can perform and the audio quality you get is lower than 160 kbit/s.

How To Fix Spotify Keeps Logging You Out

One of the issue that you might experience with this streaming service is when Spotify keeps logging out. This can be a frustrating experience especially if you have some playlists you want to listen to. There are various factors that can cause this problem such as your account is signed into a different device, improper registration of your password, or an outdated Spotify app.

Here’s what you need to do to fix the Spotify keeps logging out problem.

Solution 1: Sign out of Spotify from all devices then sign in again

The first troubleshooting step that you need to do is to sign out of your Spotify account from all devices. If you are logged into your Spotify account from the Spotify app in your Android phone or from the desktop version then you will be logged out from these devices.

The reason why you will want to log out of your Spotify account from all devices is because someone might be using your account on another device which is causing this problem.

  1. Go to the Spotify website and log in to your account.

    You can use any web browser on your computer to do this.Go to the Spotify website

  2. Click your profile icon.

    This is located on the upper right side of the screen.Click your profile icon

  3. Select Account from the list.

    This will open your Spotify account overview page.Select Account

  4. Scroll to the bottom then click the sign out everywhere button.

After performing these steps try using the Spotify app then check if you still get logged out.

Solution 2: Reset your Spotify password

There are times when a system password glitch will occur causing the Spotify logging problem. One way to fix this is to change your Spotify password.

Go to the Spotify website and log in to your account.

Click your profile icon.

Select Account from the list.

Select Change password.

Enter your current password.

Enter the new password.

Repeat new password.

Click the set new password button.

Solution 3: Uninstall system cleaning apps

One of the common causes of the Spotify application logging out is due to the cleaning apps you have installed in your Android phone. These cleaning apps usually force close apps to reduce memory usage and save battery life. While this might seem good it can usually interfere with your Spotify app.

For Android users, try uninstalling the system cleaning application of your phone then check if this fixes the Spotify app issue you are experiencing.

Solution 4: Update Spotify app

One of the reasons you keep get logging out of your Spotify account is if the app you are using is outdated. This is going to be a security concern which is probably why you won’t be able to us it.

Just get the latest version of Spotify from the Google Play Store if you are on an Android device or from the App Store for iPhone users.

Once the app is updated try to check if the issue still occurs.

Solution 5: Disable third party apps access

There’s a possibility that one of the linked third party apps is behind this problem. You should try to remove access of these third party apps from your account then check if the problem still occurs.

Go to the Spotify website and log in to your account.

Click your profile icon.

Select Account from the list.

Click Apps

Select the remove access button on all linked third party apps.

Solution 6: Clear the app cache

If this issue occurs when using the Spotify phone app then you should try clearing the cache of the app as it might have a lot of temporary files that’s causing the problem.

Open the Spotify app on your phone.

Click on the Gear icon in the top right corner to go to Settings.

Scroll down to the Storage section.

Click on the Delete cache option to clear it.

Solution 7: Reinstall Spotify

In case the issue still persists then you will need to reinstall Spotify. Uninstall Spotify from your phone then install Spotify from the Google Play Store or App Store.
