How to fix error code 194 on your Samsung device

The reason that you should perform these troubleshooting procedures is to determine what causes the error code 194 to show up on your screen. As what I’ve said earlier, this is just a minor issue and you can resolve it your own without bringing your device to the tech. Here are the things that you should do:

Perform forced reboot procedure

Before you can perform any troubleshooting steps it is imperative that you should determine first if a glitch in the system is causing the issue. This is a very basic method, it will refresh phone’s memory and closes all apps running in the background. To do this, just press and hold simultaneously the Power and Volume Down keys for 10 seconds. Your phone will then reboot and if it’s ready try to download again any app and see if the issue will occur again. If so, proceed to the next step.

Delete Play Store Cache and Data

There are times when app’s cache and data become outdated the app itself would function abnormally. So, in this procedure we have to those files and data so that newer ones will be created. In other words, we have to reset your Google Play Store app and you have to enter again your credentials and passwords once the procedure is done. Here’s how it’s done:

  1. From the Home screen, swipe up on an empty spot to open the Apps tray.
  2. Tap Settings > Apps.
  3. To display preinstalled apps, tap Menu > Show system apps.
  4. Find and tap Google Play Store.
  5. Tap Storage > CLEAR CACHE > CLEAR DATA > DELETE.

After the procedure, download again an app and see if the error still occur. If it is, then, move to the next step.

Create a backup and reset your phone

Remember, resetting your phone should be the last step that you should do if the device still failed to download an app. This will bring your phone  back to its default software and all files and data in the internal storage will be wiped out during the process. So, before you do the reset be sure to transfer all your files and data so that you can easily restore once the procedure is done. Follow these steps to reset your phone:

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.
  3. When the green Android logo displays, release all keys (‘Installing system update’ will show for about 30 – 60 seconds before showing the Android system recovery menu options).
  4. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset’.
  5. Press Power button to select.
  6. Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes — delete all user data’ is highlighted.
  7. Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
  8. When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  9. Press the Power key to restart the device.
