How to fix Galaxy S20 not fast charging issue

Does your Galaxy S20 not fast charging anymore? Don’t worry about it because as long as there is no physical or liquid damage, you can always make your phone fast charge again. There are just a few procedures you need to do to make sure everything is fine with your device.

As you know, the charging process is only possible if the charger, cable and your phone are working properly. So, before we troubleshoot your device, you have to do the following first:

  • Make sure you’re using the original power adapter or charger.
  • Make sure you have the original cable.
  • Check your phone for signs of physical and liquid damage. If you suspect the problem is due to a hardware issue, don’t troubleshoot, instead bring the phone to the tech.
  • Make sure the electrical outlet is working.

After doing all these things, you’re ready to troubleshoot your device.

Most of the time, that’s the only thing you need to do to make your phone fast charge again. However, after making sure the fast charging feature is enabled and your galaxy s20 is still not fast charging, there are a couple of things you need to do.

Turn off your phone and charge – this isn’t a solution but we need to know if your phone is still capable of fast charging. So power it down and charge it. If it actually fully charges after an hour from 10% and below, then it’s fast charging

Reset your phone – a reset might be able to fix a charging issue that’s caused by a firmware problem. However, make sure to backup your important files and data prior to the reset as they will be deleted. When ready, follow one of our guides below on how to reset your galaxy s20.

If the problem persists after doing all those things, then have the phone checked by a technician as the issue can be with the hardware.
