The #Samsung #Galaxy #S6 is one of the smartphone models available in the market that allows its battery to be charged quickly at a shorter period of time. This is achieved by increasing the charging power of the charger. One advantage of this is that the phone will only be connected to the charger for a shorter period of time thus it can save you time if you are waiting for the phone to be fully charged. There are however instances when issues can occur when charging the phone which is what we will address today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S6 fast charging not working issue & other related problems.

S6 Fast Charging Is Not Working
Problem: Hi, My Samsung S6 fast charging is not working. I tried many solutions that were available on different forums but all in wast. Kindly suggest what to do. My charging is working fine, I checked it with S6 edge plus. Not fully remember but of a bit, I do remember this problem is due to software update. But I reset my devices thrice to factory data but could not solve the issue.
Related Problem: So my Galaxy S6 is not fast charging. I have my original charger (and tried other fast chargers too). I took my phone into the verizon store to be looked at and they said everything is fine. I really hate not having my fast charge, what are my options to get this fixed without paying money for it?
Related Problem: Suddenly my phone will not fast charge. The settings are correct, I replaced my old fast charger with a new one, new cable, did a cache partition wipe and even did a factory reset but it still will not fast charge. Normal charging works fine.
Related Problem: The Fast Charging function on my Samsung Galaxy S6 is not working. there seems to be nothing wrong with the charger or the phone itself, I had only recently gotten the phone about half a month to a month ago and am quite unsure why that charger is not working properly. I made sure that I am using the original charger and have all settings how they are supposed to be. When hooked up to the charger it says that it is charging slowly. I really hope that this can be fixed, thanks!
Related Problem: so the problem with my s6 is that it does that fast charge even though i am using the fast charger which samsung provided. it either cable charges or slow charges. it is not the chargers fault because i used my dad’s s6 on my charger and his s6 fast charges with my charger, so then i used my dad’s s6 charger to charge my phone, same problem again it doesnt fast charge. i also checked on the battery settings and the fast charging has been enabled. i also tried other alternatives such as going on safe mode, rebooting, and also i factory data reset everything but my s6 still doesn’t fully charge. thank you for helping.
Solution: This smartphones is one of the models of Samsung that comes with a quick charging feature. You won’t be able to use this automatically on your phone though as certain conditions must be met which are listed below.
- Make sure that the fast charging switch in your phone settings is turned on.
- Use the adaptive fast charging charger that comes with your phone. ( You can also use other third party quick chargers that have been certified to work with this phone)
- Make sure that the screen is off or the device is off.
- If the phone heats when charging then the phone will use normal charging.
If you have satisfied all of the conditions listed above and the phone still does not fast charge then it’s time to do some troubleshooting. Follow the steps listed below then move to the next step should the issue still occur.
- Try cleaning the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air or by blowing into it using a straw. The aim here is to remove any dirt or debris that could be present in this port which could interfere with the fast charging process. Check if the issue still occurs.
- Try using a different charging cord as this cord usually gets damaged easily.
- Try using a different adaptive fast charging charger.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. After the reset do not install anything in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs.
If the above steps fail to fix the issue then I suggest you have your phone checked at a service center.
S6 Not Charging
Problem: I plugged in my s6 as usual into the charger that comes with the device. When I left the phone I switched it off and let it charge. When I got back a few hours later the device won’t charge. I’ve tried 4 different USB cables and chargers, rebooted the phone, factory reset, clear cache etc. Prior to this the device had been dropped in water but after it was kept in rice for a few hours it started working as normal for a week till this day that it won’t charge. Please help I really need to use this device
Solution: The only thing you haven’t done so far is to clean the charging port of your phone. Try cleaning this port using a can of compressed air or by blowing to it using a straw. If this doesn’t fix the problem then this might already be a hardware related issue caused by water damage. I recommend you have your phone checked at a service center.
S6 Will Not Charge After Getting Wet
Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy s6. I dropped it in about 2″ of water for about 2-3 seconds. I quickly removed the phone and wiped it down. The phone began turning on and off. I was able to turn off the phone completely for about an hour. Before turning the phone back on I attached the charger. The phone charging icon came on the changed to it was overheating and would not charge. I tried the soft reset several times without success. The phone was working after soft reset and in “Safe Mode” however there is only about 2% battery life, not enough to back up info
Solution: In this particular case you will need to make sure that the water or moisture inside your phone has been completely removed. You can do this by placing the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. You can also place it in a bag with several silica gel packs for 48 hours. The rice or silica gel will absorb the moisture or water in your device. Once you have performed this procedure inspect the exterior of your phone for any signs of water and dry it off. Check if your phone charges. If it doesn’t charge then I recommend that you bring the device to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Will Not Charge
Problem: hi there, I have a Samsung galaxy s6 and it won’t charge now. I was having some issues with it charging slower and I brought it to AT&T and I bought a new cable and it was back to fast charging. Today I went to plug it in again and it wasn’t charging at all. I tried different outlets and even a different charger and it won’t charge at all. I had charged fine this past night so I don’t know what happened. Thank you so much for your time and help!
Solution: If your phone does not charge then try following the steps listed below.
- Clean the charging port of your phone. You can do this by using a can of compressed air or by blowing to it using a straw. Make sure that the port doesn’t have any dirt or debris stuck in if after. Check if you are now able to charge your phone.
- Sometimes the charging cord could be faulty which is why the phone will not charge. Try using a different charging cord.
- Try using a different wall charger.
- Check if the phone software is causing this problem by backing up your phone data and doing a factory reset.
If the above steps fail to fix the issue then I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 No Charging Indicator
Problem: I have a problem with my Samsung Galaxy S6. Every time when I charge my phone, it shows a charging icon with a lighting in the middle, but with no percentage whatsoever, when I turn on the phone with the charger still in put, the phone is still 0%! And rarely sometimes when the phone charge up to 100, I can turn it on fine, however, it still stuck to 100%, making it hard to see if the phone is dying or not. I don’t know what’s the problem is. I use others chargers that’s not the official Samsung one or it’s the phone itself, despite showing the charging logo! Can you guys please help? Since this phone is brand new.
Solution: Try to check first if the charger is causing this issue by using a different charging cord and charger. Make sure that this is a Samsung charger or if you use a third party charger make sure it is certified to work with your device. Make sure to clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air before charging it.
If the issue still occurs then the next thing to do is to check if a glitch in the phone software is causing this problem. Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the above steps fail to resolve the problem then I recommend you have your phone checked at a service center.
S6 Not Turning On When Connected To Charger
Problem: Galaxy s6. If on the charger, it will power on, show battery critically low, show 0%, then power off. Still on the charger I will press home button, off button, and volume down, to reset. When I do this a blue screen comes up warning of downloading os. It’s gives the option for pressing volume up to continue downloading, or pressing volume down to cancel and reboot device. When pressing vol down the phone reboots and turns on for a few seconds saying battery is low then turns off again. If I press the vol up it will go to a factory mode page with icon and says ‘downloading’. I took phone off charge to move into another room and plugged it back in. Still after 15 minutes it isn’t doing anything. Screen is black and nothing I do is turning it on.
Solution: There’s a possibility that the battery of your phone is not being charged. Try cleaning the charging port of your phone first using a can of compressed air or by blowing to it using a straw. Proceed with charging your phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and charger.
If the issue still remains then bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
