YouTube downloads play a vital role when it comes to offline streaming with your phone. However, saving more YouTube videos would eventually result in running low on storage. Should this happen, you’ll have no choice but to let go of your previous bulky YouTube downloads. If you need help on how to do this on the new Samsung handset, I’ve prepared a simple guide on how to delete all YouTube downloads on the galaxy s20 handset.
Offline contents including YouTube downloads are stored in the Library folder of the app. Read to learn how to access this folder and clear out previously downloaded contents from YouTube.
Easy steps to Delete All YouTube Downloads on Galaxy S20
Time Needed : 5 minutes
The following steps will help you clear out old and unnecessary downloads from your YouTube account. Doing so will help you free up space to allocate new YouTube downloads to watch when your phone is offline.
- Open YouTube app.
The YouTube app icon is usually grouped among other Google apps and services in the G-suite or Google folder.
To access the G-suite, swipe up from the bottom of the Home screen. Doing so will open the Apps viewer.
From the Apps viewer, look for the icon named Google, tap to expand its content and finally tap on the YouTube icon.
If YouTube isn’t in G-suite, it should be lined up among other icons from the Apps screen/viewer.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the YouTube app screen then tap Library.
The Library icon is located on the bottom-rightmost corner of the display.
- On the next screen, tap Downloads.
Doing so will launch a new screen that contains downloaded videos as well as recommended downloads.
- Tap the Menu icon on the upper-rightmost corner of the Downloads screen.
Just look for the triple-dot figure right next to the Search (magnifying glass) icon.
A pop-up menu will be displayed.
- Select Settings from the pop-up menu options.
On the next screen that opens, you will see different settings and options for your YouTube downloads.
- Scroll down and tap the option to Delete all downloads.
A confirmation message will then pop-up.
- Tap Delete to confirm that you’d like to delete all downloaded videos and playlists on your YouTube account.
All saved videos and playlists will then be removed.
- Android 10
- One UI 2.0 and later
- Galaxy S20
Alternatively, you can delete all YouTube downloads at once through this method:
- Open the app then tap on your profile picture on the top-rightmost corner of the screen.
- Scroll down and tap Settings from the given options.
- From the Settings menu, tap Downloads.
This will lead you to the same Downloads screen where you can find the option to Delete all downloads.
Storage management is imperative to maintain optimum performance of mobile devices, including smartphones. While the galaxy s20 flagship devices come with bigger storage capacity, their storage isn’t unlimited. Having said that, it’s expected to gradually run out of storage space. And this is when you have to consider deleting old and unwanted contents including unused YouTube downloads.
And that covers everything in this tutorial. Please keep posted for more comprehensive tutorials, tips and tricks that will help you make the most of your new Samsung galaxy s20 smartphone.
