Where to find downloaded images on Galaxy A9

Wondering where to look for the downloaded images on your Galaxy A9? Usually, the default app for managing photos and downloaded images is thru the Gallery app. If you can’t seem to find the photos you downloaded, learn how to fix it below.

Problem: Where to find downloaded images on Galaxy A9

Hello..I recently bought Samsung Galaxy A9..whenever I downloaded images from Google>Images, I understand that the image is downloaded by the arrow pointing downwards at the top left corner of my mobile..however I cannot find the image in my Gallery..I searched the images in my Files, Downloads but still no image of the one I downloaded..

Solution: You may have changed the default app that handles photo and video management. By default, it’s the Samsung Gallery app that should download and display photos and videos. If you installed another similar app, it’s possible that you may have made it as the default app where downloaded images go.

Set app as default

To check, follow the steps below.

  1. Open Settings app.
  2. Tap Apps.
  3. Tap More settings icon at the upper right.
  4. Tap Default apps.
  5. Tap Set as default.
  6. Tap Gallery and set it as default.

Reset app preferences

Should setting an app would not work for some reason, the next best thing to do is to reset your device’s app preferences. Here’s how:

  1. Open Settings app.
  2. Tap Apps.
  3. Tap More settings icon at the upper right.
  4. Tap Reset app preferences.
  5. Tap RESET to confirm.

Reset All Settings

Another good troubleshooting step to do is to return all settings to their defaults. Restoring you device’s  settings to their defaults is usually an effective way to fix minor software bugs and glitches. You can also try this troubleshooting step in this case. Performing these steps resets all system settings (e.g., ringtones, sound settings, display settings, etc.) back to their default values. Personal data such as downloaded apps and media (pictures, videos, music) aren’t affected. Here’s how to reset all settings on your Galaxy A9:

  1. From the Home screen, swipe up on an empty spot to open the Apps tray.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap General Management.
  4. Tap Reset.
  5. Tap Reset settings.
  6. Tap RESET SETTINGS.
  7. If you have set up a PIN, enter it.
  8. Tap RESET SETTINGS.
  9. The device will restart to perform the reset of settings.

Wipe the phone (factory reset)

If the problem returns at this point, make sure to wipe the phone with factory reset. Be sure to create a copy of your personal data to avoid losing them.

To factory reset your Galaxy A9:

  1. Create a backup of your personal data.
  2. Turn off the device.
  3. Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.
  4. When the green Android logo displays, release all keys (‘Installing system update’ will show for about 30 – 60 seconds before showing the Android system recovery menu options).
  5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight “wipe data / factory reset.
  6. Press Power button to select.
  7. Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes — delete all user data’ is highlighted.
  8. Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
  9. When the master reset is complete, “Reboot system now” is highlighted.
