S9 Google Play Store Will Not Open
Problem: Last night my phone’s system updated, all seems fine except that now the Google Play Store /services will not open or allow other apps such as gmail, to work on the phone. When I open my gmail it claims to not run without Google Play Services which are currently updating and has been that way all day. When I try to open Google Play, I get the opening page that wants me to sign in but the green button does not work… basically it will not go to the next window to let me sign in. Any ideas?? Is it an issue with Google Play? Thanks!
Solution: This appears to be caused by a glitch in the update process. The best thing to do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode then wipe the cache partition of the device from here. Restart the phone then make sure that it is connected to a strong Wi-Fi connection.
If the issue still persists then you will need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset as the problem might already be caused by old software data that has not been completely removed during the update process.
S9 Keeps On Notifying On Software Update Available
Problem: I have several issues. First, I’ve done this latest update 6 times because every time it installs the phone immediately tells me an update is available and I get so annoyed with the stupid notification and I do it again. Secondly, I no longer know when I have text messages and can only see them when I actually open the text app. There was usually a small number in the corner of the envelope indicating how many texts were waiting to be read. This has been the most annoying update ever!!
Solution: This issue is usually caused by the phone not recognizing that the latest software has already been installed. What you need to do first in this case is to check the software version that your phone is running on against the software version that needs to be downloaded. If they are different then you should proceed with the software update. If they are different then you should first try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode. The issue will usually be resolved after performing this step. In case it persists then you will need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
S9 YouTube Videos Not Playing
Problem: Hi, thank you for taking the time to look at my email. I’ve been having issues with my youtube app on my galaxy s9. It seems to want to load for a little bit like two or three videos, and then all of a sudden the thumbnails won’t load and then it wont load any more videos and when I click a video it doesn’t play the video. I’ve tried all of the troubleshooting steps that are on the website, soft reset, clearing the cache, reinstalling youtube, I even factory reset the phone, even though I bought it brand new and have had issues with it since I got it. I’ve just dealt with it until now where it’s become an absolute hassle. The only fix I’ve found was to restart the app but it happens again after two or three videos.
Solution: Have you tried checking if the problem is caused by the network connection? Since you have already performed a factory reset and the issue still remains then it’s very likely that this is caused by a connection issue. Try connecting the phone to a different Wi-Fi network then check if the issue still occurs. You should also check if the issue occurs when the phone is connected to your mobile LTE network.
S9 Messaging App Keeps On Crashing
Problem: Messaging app continually crashes. Says, “Unfortunately, messaging app has stopped working” Upon manually closing it and reopening, the same message appears. We have tried turning the phone off and back on, Turning the phone off for 10 seconds and restarting. It still isn’t working.
Solution: To fix this problem you should try clearing the cache and data of the messaging app first from the application manager. In case the issue still occurs after this you should start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you installed. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should make sure that your phone is running on the latest software version. You should then backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
