J5 Screen Is Blinking On And Off

Problem: The phone display is black.  I assumed it wasn’t charged so instead of leaving it on the charging pad I plugged it in to charge overnight. Brought it to Verizon and they tried to bring it up in safe mode.  That didn’t work but now the screen is blinking on and off, alternating between black and purple static.  There is still power to the phone per the blue display light. The buttons are not working on the phone. The phone was not exposed to moisture and it wasn’t dropped.  The help desk is assuming something was done to the phone but it was in a unicorn beetle case prior to it not working.

Solution: You should try performing a simulated battery pull on the phone first by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. In case the issue persists then you will need to start the phone in recovery mode and if you are able to access this mode then you have to do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

J5 Screen Has Gone Black

Problem: My husbands samsung J5  screen has gone black, we have put it on the charger and it didn’t appear to register the charge (tested charger on another phone and worked) also had his alarm go off this morning yet the screen was still black so it seems it is still on. It was dropped about a week ago and there is a crack on the screen however it didn’t affect any of the internals, there were no glitches on the screen. I have tried a hard reset and it doesn’t seem to register though it did vibrate one time when I attempted to do it. I also can’t soft reset as the battery is not easily accessible (no backing to remove), How can I solve this issue?

Related Problem: My daughter’s galaxy J5 has a black screen. The phone is making all the noises, and I can phone her, but she can’t answer it.I have tried holding power/ volume / home button etc, but stays black. I have put A5 below in the form, as there us no option for S5.I also don’t know the android version..

Related Problem: Two days ago I dropped my J5 phone on the vinyl floor with glass screen protector and back over . It has EE NETWORK. it was still working but I noticed purple colour ink was spreading away I switched off my phone and put it back on again today , screen is all black. I can still hear notifications . Plz guide me how to fix this issue as I have important data in it, esp my presentation voice recordings .

Solution: For this particular issue you should check if the screen can work when the phone is started in recovery mode. If it does then the problem could be caused by a software glitch. You will have to do a factory reset in this mode to fix the problem. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

If the above step does not work then the problem is most likely caused by a damaged display assembly. You will need to have this checked and possibly replaced at a service center.

J5 Screen Presses On Its Own

Problem: Hi, My phone has screen issues. It started hanging and I uninstalled the app that I thought was the problem. But the problem continued. Restarted in safe mode..still same issue, deleted cache partition..it got worse.the screen started pressing on its only..if I’m typing the words can get deleted by itself, I can’t slide the status bar down. Then I did factory reset still no changes
Solution: If a factory reset does not fix the problem then this is most likely a hardware related problem already possibly caused by a damaged display assembly. You will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
