S7 Grey Bar At Bottom Of Screen

Problem: Hello I own an s7 galaxy . I’m experiencing a grey transparent bar at the bottom of the screen … it won’t go away. Also. If I have on the phone for a while … the grey bar can increase In size covering half the screen. Not sure if it’s an app that’s doing this Can you help please?

Solution: The best way to check if an app is causing this problem is to start the phone in Safe Mode. When your phone operates in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. Apps that you downloaded are prevented from running. If the grey bar does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

In case the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. This way you will be able to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try checking first if the issue still occurs.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this is most likely caused by a hardware component that is failing to work possibly the display assembly. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Turns Off When Battery Is Below 70%

Problem: Samsung galaxy s7 turns off when below 70% battery and then reboots and then turn off again and just keep repeating until plugged in. What’s a solution for this?

Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If this card has corrupt sectors then it could cause this type of problem.Try removing the card if your phone has one.

You should also check if a software glitch is causing this problem by backing up your phone data then doing a factory reset.

In case the issue still persists after the reset then the battery might be faulty. Since this phone has a non-removable battery you will need to bring this to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Not Finish Installing Software Update

Problem: samsung s7 won’t finish installing system update. it gets to 28% then restarts phone and starts installing update again

Solution: The best thing to do in this case is to backup your phone data then proceed with the steps listed below.

  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Do a factory reset in recovery mode.

Once this is done try updating the phone software again.

S7 Won’t Charge

Problem: Hi, so my Samsung S7 won’t charge. It feels like there’s something loose in the phone’s connecting port thing cause it keeps wiggling around. It disconnects and reconnects constantly and doesn’t charge half the time and when it does, it doesn’t keep the charge, it dies super fast. I’ve tried multiple cables and ports, but nothing seems to be helping. I need to fix this really soon because I use my phone constantly for my day to day life. Do I need to go to the T-mobile store and get a new phone or is there a way I can fix it now or at least for a bit until I can get to the store at some point in the near future? my phone is updated to whatever the newest version if that’s any help, It asks in the form but I’m not sure if I answered it right.

Solution: If the charging port keeps wiggling around then this is what’s causing the problem. You will need to have the charging port fixed ( its connection might just need to be soldered back) or possibly replaced at a service center.

S7 Keeps On Freezing

Problem: Hi, my phone has been freezing a lot lately and cannot be turned on, sometimes it’s able to turn on but after updating my phone it has froze once more but this time I can no longer turn the phone on, I tried other boot up methods but the phone does not respond to any of them.

Solution: If your phone won’t turn on then you will first need to make sure that the battery has sufficient charge by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using its wall charger.
  • If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger.
  • Try charging the phone from a computer USB port.

Once the phone charges and turns on then proceed with the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Remove the microSD card if the phone has one installed.
  • Turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.
  • To prevent the phone from freezing it is recommended that you do a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this reset will erase your phone data.

In case the above steps doesn’t fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Not Getting Text From One Number

Problem: I can’t receive messages from one phone number in the samsung messenger app. The messages do however come through on the facebook messenger app – but i hate this app and prefer to use the samsung one. I have checked the blocked numbers list and there are no numbers listed. I had no issues texting this number with my s6 edge it’s only been since i upgraded to the s7.

Solution: What you should do in this case is to clear the cache and data of the text messaging app from the application manager then check if the issue still occurs.

If it does then proceed with the steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset,

S7 Camera Failed Error

Problem: Some how I busted the glass lens that covers my rear camera on galaxy s7 even with an otterbox case. When i try to open up camera it says camera failed and can’t even use the front camera as well. Just wondering if my camera is damaged internally also and how much to fix.? Thanks

Solution: It’s very likely that the camera module of the phone has been damaged. You will need to have this checked and replaced at a service center. We don’t know how much you will spend on having this fixed as it varies between service centers.
