Today we will tackle the Galaxy S6 Edge vertical red line on screen issue & other related problems. As we all know one of the prominent features of this phone is its display. Not only does it use a Super AMOLED display but this display also curves around the edges of the phone. Although the display of this phone is quite outstanding there are instances when certain screen issues can occur which we will be addressing today.

S6 Edge Vertical Red Line On Screen
Problem: I am having problem with the display of my mobile Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. The Screen is showing a vertical thin red line after my mobile was dropped. The rest of the features are working fine. Can you please help me fix this issue.
Solution: It looks like the display has been damaged by the drop. Try to check if you still see the same thin red line when the phone is started in recovery mode. If it doesn’t appear in this mode then this might just be caused by a software glitch. I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset if this is the case. However, if the same issue occurs in recovery mode then you have a damaged display. Since the line isn’t affecting the phone performance you will have to decide if you want to replace the display assembly to get rid of the red line or just use your phone as is.
S6 Edge Flickering White Light At Bottom Of Screen
Problem: Just had s6 edge screen flickering bright white at bottom about 1 inch from bottom up even worse when i move down web pages as its then all the bottom half.
Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this particular issue is to check if an app you downloaded is causing the problem. To do this just start your phone in Safe Mode. When the phone works in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are prevented from running. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the issue occurs even in Safe Mode then you should try doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this could already be a hardware related problem possibly caused by a faulty display. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center if this is the case.
S6 Edge Shadow Appears When Opening Apps
Problem: S6 edge screen display problem i am just wondering why everytime i open any apps a shadow will occur…a facebook home screen and a keyboard will appear in a light grey color shadow at the back of the apps i am opening with. can you please help me with this problem…Thank you
Solution: This is called a burn-in issue which unfortunately is common to AMOLED displays. What you can do right now is to check if the same issue occurs after a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the ame issue occurs. If it does then the only solution is to have the display of the phone replaced. If this doesn’t bother you that much then I suggest you just leave it as it is since it does not affect your phone performance.
S6 Edge Screen Is Shattered
Problem: i shattered my screen while running to the bus stop & it has huge cracks on the side, the screen keeps flickering at the top & stays blank at the bottom . it doesn’t allow me to do anything on the phone now. is there anything i can do to fix this without having to send it off ?
Solution: Since the screen is shattered and the phone is not working then the best thing to do right now is to have this display replaced at a service center.
S6 Edge Screen Is Unresponsive
Problem: Please my S6 edge was sent to me from canada by my sister because she changed her device but on receiving the phone i noticed the screen became unresponsive the only time it works is when you apply the lock and unlock button and after one touch it seizes again and also showing camera failed when you click the camera button. Please help me
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to perform a factory reset on the phone from the recovery mode. Take note that this will erase all data stored in the device. If the problem still occurs after the reset then this could already be a hardware related issue. You need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Screen Not Working After Update
Problem: hi there, i downloaded the last version for samsung s6 edge. but now the screen doesn’t work, there is no light but the phone is working but i can’t see anythings. i can answer the calls but i don’t know who is calling because of the black screen> thank you
Solution: Try restarting your phone first as sometimes all that needs to be done is to refresh the device. If after restarting the phone the issue still occurs then start your phone in recovery mode then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
- Do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
If after the reset the issue still occurs then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Screen Not Working
Problem: My Samsung s6 edge of 6 months was in my purse and got warm and then the screen went blank. The phone powers on and off and rings yet no screen. I was told it could be LCD yet when a kiosk at mall opened it and connected a new LCD it still did not function. I do not have insurance on my phone.
Solution: It’s possible that this problem is caused by a faulty display controller which is in the motherboard of the phone. You should have this checked at a service center.
S6 Edge Swipe Function Not Working
Problem: Samsung s6 edge my swipe function has stopped working ? Can’t even power off and can’t remove battery
Solution: For this particular issue you should try to simulate a battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this.
If the phone is still stuck then wait for its battery to totally drain. Charge the phone for at least an hour then start it in recovery mode. From here you have to do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. If the problem persists then the phone might have a damaged digitizer. Bring your phone to a service center and have this checked.
