Based on experience, this problem isn’t really that serious. In fact, you may be able to get rid of the error message after doing the first two procedures. That said, here are the things you need to do if your phone has some issues launching Snapchat app…

First solution: Force restart your phone first

When troubleshooting app- or software-related issue, it’s best to begin with this very simple procedure because it’s very much possible that this problem is just due to a minor firmware issue or even just a glitch. The forced restart is actually a simulated battery removal which refreshes your phone’s memory as well as reloads all its apps and services. Here’s how you do it:

  1. Press and hold the Volume Down button and don’t release it yet.
  2. While holding down the volume button, press and hold the Power key as well.
  3. Keep both keys held down together for 15 seconds or until the Galaxy S10e logo shows on the screen.

Once the device has successfully rebooted, open the app and see if the error Snapchat has stopped would still show up. If it still does, then move on to the next procedure.

Fourth solution: Uninstall Snapchat and then reinstall it

It is possible that this problem is due to a compatibility issue between this app and the firmware but instead of just updating Snapchat, it’s best to just remove it completely from your phone to remove all its associations with the firmware and other apps. Don’t worry, none of your files will be deleted if you did this but it’s always a good habit to create a backup of your important files. And here’s how you do that:

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to pull the notification panel down.
  2. Tap the Settings icon on the upper-right corner.
  3. Scroll to and then tap Apps.
  4. Find and tap Snapchat.
  5. Tap Storage.
  6. Touch Clear data and tap OK to confirm.
  7. Tap the back key once and then touch Uninstall.
  8. Confirm that you want to remove the app from your phone.
  9. Restart your phone again to refresh its memory.

After the reboot, follow these steps to reinstall Snapchat.

  1. From the home screen, pull the app drawer up.
  2. Find and tap Play Store.
  3. In the search field, type in ‘snapchat.’
  4. Tap Snapchat and then touch Install.
  5. After the installation, tap Open to launch it.

Most of the time, this procedure will fix third-party applications that keep on crashing. However, if the Snapchat has stopped error still shows up, then you have no other choice but to reset your phone.

Fifth solution: Create a backup of your important files and reset your phone

At this point, you have no other choice but to reset your phone as it could be due to a firmware problem. I am confident that a reset will fix this problem but we’re always hesitant to suggest this without exhausting all possible solutions as you may end up losing some of your important files. But it’s now necessary to reset your device so make sure to create a copy of your important files and data so that you won’t lose them. After that, remove your Google and Samsung accounts so that you won’t be locked out of your device. Once everything is done properly, follow these steps to reset your phone:

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.
  3. When the Galaxy S10+ logo shows, release all three keys.
  4. Your Galaxy S10 Plus will continue to boot up into the Recovery Mode. Once you see a black screen with blue and yellow texts, proceed to the next step.
  5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset’.
  6. Press Power button to select.
  7. Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes’ is highlighted.
  8. Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
  9. When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  10. Press the Power key to restart the device.
