Note 4 Screen Does Not Turn On But Phone Is Working
Problem: I have Samsung Galaxy Note 4, till today it has functioned very well. But before two hour I was playing a game, suddenly the screen failed. I have tried to restart by removing the battery unfortunately the screen unable to light on…only I received the call with earphone without seeing the incoming call number. How can I fix the problem, please help me
Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this case is to remove the battery and microSD card ( if your phone has one) then press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This will discharge the phone circuit then clear its RAM. Reinsert just the battery then turn on your phone. If the screen still does not work then check if it does when the phone is started in recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then I recommend that you do a factory reset from here. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this might already be caused by a damaged display. I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Recovering Data When Screen Is Broken
Problem: My phone fell the screen cracked and it turned black. It still powers on. I was able to insert sim card to another phone, but I cannot retrieve the pictures and video I had on my phone. I had very important pics of my kids graduation ceremony. Please help.
Related Problem: Screen is broke, phone is on, I want to try and retrieve music and pics. I saw a post where you can hook up a wired mouse and hook your phone up to a TV or monitor to see because the phone screen doesn’t work.
Solution: The best way to recover the data stored in your phone is to have the display assembly replaced. Replacing the screen won’t erase your phone data which means you will be able to access the data once the screen has been replaced.
In case you are not able to have the screen replaced then there is still a way to recover the phone data and this is by using Kies. Simply connecting the phone to a computer with Kies installed will not do the trick because if you have a passcode set on the phone you will need to input this code and since the screen is not working this is not possible.
What you will want to do right now is to access the find my mobile website of Samsung from a computer browser. This will work if you have set up this phone with your Samsung account. Log in to your account then choose the option “remotely unlock phone” . This unlocks your phone. Once this is done connect your phone to a computer with Kies or Smart Switch then backup your phone data.
In case you did not set up the phone with a Samsung account then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Not Showing Notifications
Problem: Hello, I have a galaxy NOTE 4, that suddenly stop showing me the notifications that used to pop down from the top bar. Any idea how could I get them back? Thank you for your attention, as help would be much appreciated. Kind regards.
Solution: The first thing that you should do in this case is to check the notification settings of the phone.
- From a Home screen go to Apps then Settings
- Go to Sound and Notification
- Tap Notifications on lock screen then select the option Show all content
If the phone notification setting is already correct but you are not getting any notifications then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below. Check if the issue still occurs after performing each step then move to the next if it does.
- Remove the battery and microSD card ( if your phone has one installed) then press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This will discharge the phone circuit and clear out its RAM. Reinsert the battery then turn on the phone.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 4 Works But Screen Is Black
Problem: My samsung galaxy note 4’s flickered and started to turn purplish and finally black. the phone works but cannot see anything on the screen.
Solution: What you will want to do in this case is to start the phone in recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then the problem might be caused by a software glitch. I recommend that you do a factory reset from here. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. However, if the screen will not work even in recovery mode then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Bottom Screen Is Not Clear
Problem: Hi, my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 did a software update and now my screen is weird. The top looks fine, but as it moves towards the bottom, it’s lighter so that i can’t see the screen clearly. I shut it down and restarted it. I took out the battery and restarted it. I deleted all extraneous apps. I did a factory reset and nothing helps. It wasn’t dropped or damaged in any way. Any tips?
Solution: Since you have already performed a factory reset which doesn’t fix the problem then this could already be caused by a faulty display assembly. I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked. It’s possible that you will need to have the display assembly replaced.
