S5 Totally Freezes
Problem: Over the past few months I’ve been noticing that my phone was lagging. Now it has come to the point where my phone totally freezes. if I’m using an app, such as maps, and a call comes i, I cannot answer the call because my phone is totally froze. It will not allow me to move for one after the other without a serious minute lag in between. I have did a soft reset, hard factory reset, and now its to the point where I am taking out the battery at least two to three times a day to do soft reset…Please HELP
Solution: Does the issue still occur after doing a factory reset? Try checking by backing up your phone data then do another round of factory reset. Once the reset is done do not install any apps yet. Observe your phone first and see if it freezes. If the phone does not freeze then the problem could be caused by a third party app you previously installed in your phone. If the phone freezes then this the problem could either be caused by by a defective microSD card ( if your phone has one then try taking it out) or a corrupt phone software. If the problem is caused by the latter then you could try to flash a fresh copy of the phone firmware to your phone.Instructions on how to do this procedure can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.
S5 Freezes
Problem: At least once a day my phone freezes and the screen won’t work. Sometimes in my apps (specifically snap chat) will turn on and off and exit the app and then go back in without me even doing anything. Also sometimes when Im typing the keyboard freezes and the presses random letters that I haven’t touched on the keyboard. Frequently when I turn my screen off a green screen flashes before it turns off. Any ideas as to what is going on and what I can do about it.
Solution: Since this issue occurs occasionally it is most likely caused by some form of corrupt data in your phone. You should try to start your phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition. Restart your phone normally then check if your phone still freezes.
Another factor that can cause his problem is software conflict caused by a third party app you downloaded. To check if this is the case you need to start your phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded and installed are disabled. Observe if your phone still freezes in this mode. If your phone does not freeze then the problem could be caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
Does your phone have a microSD card installed? This can also be a factor that can cause the phone to freeze. Try taking out the card then check if the issue still occurs.
If the above troubleshooting steps fail then I suggest you backup your phone data and do a factory reset.
S5 Dragon Story Game Freezes
Problem: I have been playing Dragon Story for quite awhile now (I’m about to be level 129),the game freezes, I get bumped off the game, the keyboard will pop up for me to post to my neighbors on the game and then go away I have invested a lot of time and money on this game and don’t want to lose it, what should I do to solve the problems?
Solution: Make sure that you are connected to a stable Internet connection when playing the game. Sometimes if the game requires an Internet connection and your phone is currently offline then the freezing issue can occur.
Another factor that can cause the freezing issue is the microSD card of your phone ( if you have one installed) Try replacing this card and see if the issue still occurs.
A corrupt data in the game can also cause this problem. Try to clear the cache and data of the app. You should also follow this up by wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
If the problem still persists then uninstall the app and download a fresh version from the Google Play Store.
S5 Freezes After Installing Lollipop Update
Problem: My phone, which is a samsung galaxy s5 mini, keeps on freezing after I installed the lollipop update. It is acting like the screen works, but the touchpad does not. I’ve tried resetting my phone, doing the battery reset, and the wiping extra cache. Please help!
Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it has then try to take it out then check if your phone still freezes. If the problem still occurs then I suggest you downgrade your phone software to the previous version. You will need to manually flash the old software version to your phone. Instructions on how to do this can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.
S5 Constantly Freezes & Runs Hot
Problem: My phone constantly freezes and runs hot. This has been happening forever now. Sometimes it’s worse than others. Its definitely stuff happening in the background. Half of the time when I go to the screen to force quit apps, the culprit is google play music that is on for some reason. When it freezes there are different levels of how bad it gets. Sometimes it takes me a while to type. Other times the apps start crashing 1 by one, or the phone will ring while I’m texting or emailing and it freezes and I can’t answer the call or continue typing. I HATE THIS PHONE. It shouldn’t be like this, right? Recently I’ve started turning on “”restrict background data”” when I’m in a wifi area. That’s the only thing that seems to fix it, but can’t keep it like that all of the time. What can I do other than buying a new phone.
Solution: The problem could be caused by corrupt data in your phone. Try starting your phone in recovery mode and wipe its cache partition. Restart the phone normally then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
S5 Keeps On Crashing After Lollipop Update
Problem: After my Samsung downloaded the Lollipop update my phone short cycles constantly starting, crashing and restarting over, and over, and over, …I have tried all 3 versions of rebooting including factory reset and the phone will only initiate a reboot then locks up. I would be alarmed were it not for the fact that I have a Galaxy Note 3 that still works.
Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try taking it out and check if the problem still occurs. If the issue still persists then try checking if the problem occurs with the charger plugged in. If it doesn’t occur then the issue may be caused by your phone battery not giving the correct voltage. Get a new battery and see if this resolves the problem.
If the above troubleshooting steps fail then I suggest you manually flash the previous software version back to your phone. Instructions on how to do this can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.
