Note 3 Lag Issue & Apps Missing

Problem: Hello, I’ll keep this quick to save time. After my Note 3 update to Lollipop, I started having weird lags. when I open the home screen, all the apps aren’t there, I can’t even go to my apps. If I power it off then on again (restart won’t work) the apps on the home screen are there but if I go to apps, its empty and all my apps have vanished. Also if there are any folders on the home screen, when I press on them, they adjust brightness. I need help as soon as possible please.

Solution: It looks like your phone software may gotten corrupt during the upgrade process. The best way to proceed in cases like this is to backup your phone data and do a factory reset.

  • Turn off the device.
  • ress and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, Power key.
  • When ‘GALAXY Note 3’ appears on the screen, release the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key.
  • When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
  • Press the Volume down key to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset.’
  • Press Power button to select.
  • Press the Volume down key to highlight ‘delete all user data.’
  • Press Power button to select and start the master reset. When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  • Press the Power key to turn the restart the device.

Note 3 Google Play Store Opens Randomly

Problem: Hello.. First let me say I apologize if you have already posted about this issue and I didn’t see it. My issue with my Note 3 is that after I updated the software from Jelly Bean 4 something i don’t remember to Lollipop 5.0 my Play Store randomly opens up by itself with various different apps it thinks I might like to download. It happens regardless of what Im doing, answering texts, trying to make a call, in another app etc. This never happened on my phone prior. I did not download any new apps or 3rd party apps after the software upgrade. I figure I somehow got malware and ran two different scans, Lookout and 360 Security..neither detected anything. How can I stop these random play store pop ups?

Solution: The main reason why your Google play Store opens up on its own is that you may have installed a third party app  or clicked on a browser link that is causing this to occur. Try restarting your phone in Safe Mode first to check if this is caused by an app. In this mode all third party apps are disabled making it easier to troubleshoot the issue.

  • Turn the device off.
  • Press and hold the Power key.
  • When ‘GALAXY Note 3’ appears on the screen, release the Power key. Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume down key.
  • Continue to hold the Volume down key until the device finishes restarting.
  • ‘Safe mode’ will display in the bottom left corner of the screen. Release the Volume down key when you see ‘Safe Mode.’

If the issue does not occur in this mode then it may be caused by a third party app. find out what app this is (most likely a free app that comes with ads) and uninstall it.

If however the issue still occurs in Safe mode then the system data may have been affected. You will need to backup your phone data and do a factory reset.

  • Turn off the device.
  • Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, Power key.

Problem: Hi I have a Samsung Note 3 and in the last month the play store constantly opens to various game Aps; Candy Crush and others while I try to hit the Text icon or use the Google Chrome icon. I have never purchased game Aps so don’t know where this is coming from or how to resolve it. Also, all photos taken with my phone turn sideways or upside-down. I have removed battery and replaced which will temp fix it but reverts back to problem soon thereafter

Solution: The issue with your Google Play Store opening randomly may be caused by a third party app or by a link you clicked previously on your phone browser. Regarding your photos turning upside down this is most likely caused by a corrupted data. The best way to proceed in this case is to backup your phone data and do a factory reset. By performing this one action you will be able to target both problems simultaneously.

  • Turn off the device.
  • Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, Power key.

Note 3 Can’t Do Voice Recording

Problem: Hi, I am using Lollipop vertigo of note 3. I am unable to do voice recording.  Every time after the recording when I press the stop button it says “Recording Error “. Please fix this problem.I switched off the phone for a min and tried but that’s not working. Kindly guide. Thanks

Solution: The first thing you should do in cases like this is to concentrate on the app first. Try to clear the cache and data of your voice recorder app and see if this resolves the issue.

  • From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  • Tap Settings.
  • Tap the General tab.
  • Tap Application manager.
  • Swipe to the All screen
  • Tap the desired application
  • Tap Clear data and then tap OK.
  • Tap Clear cache.

If the problem still persists then proceed with wiping the cache partition of your phone.

  • Turn off the device.
  • Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, Power key
  • When ‘GALAXY Note 3’ appears on the screen, let go of the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key.
  • When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
  • Press the Volume Down key to highlight ‘wipe cache partition.’
  • Press the Power key to select and wipe the cache.
  • With ‘reboot system now’ highlighted, press the Power key to restart the device.

Finally, if all else fails you need to do a factory reset. Just make sure to backup your phone data before proceeding.

  • Turn off the device.
  • Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, Power key.

Note 3 Facebook App Crashes

Problem: Hi there! Installed lollipop a couple of months ago and everything has been fine until yesterday when Facebook started to crash whenever I respond to a post. I have uninstalled and reinstalled FB and cleared the cache, yet the problem persists. Any suggestions? I really don’t want to do a factory reset….. Thanks!

Solution: If a factory reset is out of the option then you should wipe the cache partition of your phone..

If the problem remains then try to uninstall your phone’s third party apps except Facebook. Observe if Facebook still crashes. If it doesn’t then install your other apps one at a time. After every app install observe if Facebook crashes. When you get to an app where Facebook crashes then that app is most likely the culprit behind the crash.
