S3 Does Not Turn On

Problem: My battery was draining so I put the phone on charge and i went to sleep. In the morning I try powering on my phone and it’s not coming. When connected to my computer, it makes a first sound to mean the phone is connected and just after a few second it makes another sound to mean the phone is disconnected. Please help me. Thanks

Solution:You should first try to use a different USB cord. Connect the cord to your charger then charge your phone for at least 20 minutes. Check if the charging indicator is present. If the issue is just with the USB cord then your phone should turn on by now.

If the issue still persists then proceed with checking the charging port of your phone. Check for any signs of dirt or lint. This may interfere with the charging or connection process. If necessary, clean the port using a toothpick or cotton bud dipped in alcohol.

You should also take out the phone battery and  microSD card (if you have one installed). Press and hold the power button for at least a minute to discharge the phone. Reinsert just the battery then turn the phone on.

Another option is to replace your phone battery as this may not be holding sufficient charge anymore.

Finally, if your phone still does not turn on you should bring it to an authorized service center and have it checked.

S3 Turns Off In Not Plugged In Charger

Problem: Recently my phone overheated in my parked vehicle. The phone won’t stay on unless it’s plugged in. The battery says that it’s charged, but immediately after unplugging, turns itself off. It’ll restart without being plugged in, but shuts off immediately. I’ve looked for similar problems online but haven’t had much luck finding a solution. The Verizon center is more interested in selling me a new phone than helping me resolve this issue. I like the phone I have & will switch only if essential. Is this simply a battery problem or is the phone itself heat damaged? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Solution: In most cases similar to this it’s always the battery that is causing the problem. Before spending a lot of cash getting a new phone try to get a new battery first and see if this solves the problem.

S3 Not Charging

Problem: My phone just started not charging and shuts off while on charge because the phone is not charging my phone charged just fine yesterday and then tonight its just not before this though my phone would freeze up and I would have to take the battery out how can I fix my phone?

Solution: The first thing that you need to do is to verify if the charger is working properly. to do this, simply use the charger with another phone and check if it charges. If not, then the charger may be defective in which case you need to replace it.

The next step to do is to check the charging port of your phone for any signs of dirt or lint. This usually interferes with the charging process. Clean the port with a toothpick or cotton bud dipped in alcohol if necessary.

Try to get another battery and use it on your phone. If this issue is caused by a defective battery then your phone should be working with the new battery.

Finally, if all else fails you should perform a factory reset to eliminate any software related problems that may be causing this issue. Make sure to backup your phone data before proceeding.

  • Turn off the device.
  • Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, Power key.
  • When the phone vibrates, release the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key.
  • When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
  • Press the Volume down key to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset.’
  • Press Power button to select.
  • Press the Volume down key to highlight ‘delete all user data.’
  • Press Power button to select and start the master reset. When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  • Press the Power key to turn the restart the device.

If the issue still persists then the problem may be with your phone hardware. You need to bring your phone to an authorized service center for checking.

S3 Stopped Charging

Problem: Hello. Recently, my phone stopped charging and I can’t do anything about this problem. I changed the battery and still nothing. Yesterday I did go to a place that is known for repairing mobile phones and the guy over there said that ,maybe , the phone’s jack might be the problem. He solved “the problem” but he found himself amazed that even though the charging icon appeared , the battery didn’t charge. He suggested me that the charging driver is broken and there is no hope in making it work again. I mailed you to find out if there is any chance of repairing my phone? Some notes: one day last week my phone’s charging tone changed, but this happened only once so I didn’t think it was going to “die” and now, when I am also trying to charge my phone , there is not even the icon appearing.

Solution: If the charging icon is appearing but the phone does not appear to charge then I suggest you perform a factory reset first to clear out any software related problems that may be causing this issue. Make sure you backup your phone data first before proceeding.

If the charging icon still appears even if the phone is not charging then this may already be a power IC issue or a motherboard issue. Try to check how much it is going to cost you for this issue to be repaired since you may be saving a lot if you just buy a new phone.

S3 Does Not Turn On

Problem: I recently started having problems with my Galaxy s3. When I turn it off, or it runs out of battery, it doesn’t seem to want to charge or turn back on. Every 10 seconds it vibrates for 1 second. When it is on, it keeps popping up the menu for power off/airplane mode/restart. And it goes to the home screen constantly. I have did the soft reset. Kind of don’t want to do the hard reset unless I am sure it’s worth the time. I have my data backed up to a 8gb sd card. Seems to be getting worse and worse? Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.

Solution: I suggest you proceed with doing a factory reset since this will clear out any software related problems that may be causing this issue.

If the problem still remains then you should bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked as this may already be caused by a faulty hardware.
