J7 Not Registered On Network Error

Problem: Galaxy J7 – cannot make phone calls at home – keep getting not registered on network message.  Went to AT&T and phone works at their store, but not at home.  This is my first smart phone.  Can you help please?

Solution: There’s a possibility that the signal is weak in your home which is why the phone is getting this error message. Do you have another AT&T phone in your household? You can check if this phone is getting a good signal or not. You can also try going outside your home and check if the phone gets a good signal.

In case the signal strength of the phone is strong but then the error message occurs then what you will want to do is to check if a software glitch is causing the problem. To do this you will need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete check if the issue still occurs.

You should also check if the SIM card that you are using is causing this problem by using another SIM in your phone.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.

J7 Screen Is Yellowish

Problem: My screen have become yellowish in colour but if i rotate my screen then it becomes normal please help me to solve this issue.

Solution: It’s possible that this problem is caused by a software glitch. Try starting the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it is most likely caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

In case the issue occurs in Safe Mode then you will need to do a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

J7 Call Gets Choppy

Problem: I have J7 Prime since November 2016. When i am having a call, there is this cutting of conversation as if the signal is bad whereas l am at the best coverage. When that happens, there is a clicking sound similar to when someone is holding two cables and brushing them together to connect and disconnect rapidly. After one update the thing stopped. I am not sure if it started again because of the last system update. I hope it is clear for you to assist.

Solution: Since you mentioned that the coverage is great in your area then the first thing that you should do in this case is to check if some software glitch is causing the problem by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Check if an app you installed is causing this issue by starting the phone in Safe Mode. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Try to check if a system software glitch is causing this problem by doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

If the issue still persists then you should check if the network is causing the problem. Try going to a different location then make a call. Does the problem occur? If it doesn’t then this could be a signal related problem.

You should also try contacting your carrier and inquire if there are any network related activities in your area that can cause this problem.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

J7 Half Of Screen Flickers When Brightness Is Low

Problem: I have a Samsung j7 when I turn down the brightness the bottom half of the screen flickers. I looked at the page you had and it said to open the phone in safe mode. I tried following those instructions but my phone never offered that option . I tried the second step but that didn’t work either.

Solution: Safe Mode can be accessed by following the steps listed below.

  • Turn the phone off.
  • Press and hold the Power button past the screen with the device name.
  • When ‘SAMSUNG’ appears on the screen, release the Power key.
  • Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume down key.
  • Continue to hold the Volume down key until the device finishes restarting.
  • Safe mode will display in the bottom left corner of the screen.
  • Release the Volume down key when you see ‘Safe Mode’

When the phone is in Safe Mode you should check if the issue still occurs. If it doesn’t then you might have installed an app that is causing this problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

In case the issue still occurs in Safe Mode then the next step is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet but instead try to check if the problem still occurs.

If it does then one final troubleshooting steps that you can do is to access the developer options of your phone then go to the Drawing Section or Rendering Section. Make sure to “Turn off hardware overlays” or “disable hardware overlays”. This forces the phone to use the GPU to manage the screen adjustments.

In case the above steps fails to work then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

J7 Gets Very Hot

Problem: My Samsung galaxy j7 gets very hot and when i try to take a picture with the flash, the phone shuts off and i have to connect the phone to a charger to be able to turn it on. My carrier is boost mobile

Solution: It’s very likely that this problem is caused by a faulty battery. Try getting a new battery for your phone first then check if this fixes the problem. In case the issue persists then try checking if a software glitch is causing the problem by doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
