Note 5 Not Recognizing Call Contact Because Of +1

Problem: Hello.I read on your website where someone else was having a +1 issue but they were in the UK. I am here in the USA with a USA purchased unlocked verizon note 5. I use my device on att and I was not having any issues the first couple of days. I then started to receive call from my contacts but their names were not showing up their numbers were coming in with a +1 in front of them and because of that my phone was not recognizing them as a contact which is very frustrating. Also when I am in my call log and I try to swipe right to call someone back it places a +1 in front of their  number and an error populates that states “do not have enough fund to make this call” as if it is trying to call international or something and that number I was trying to call was definitely local. Please help me. It is driving me crazy!

Solution: The first thing to do in this case is to delete the temporary data of the phone. If this data is corrupt then it can cause this kind of problem. To delete the temporary data just start your phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition. Once this is done restart the phone then check if the issue still occurs.

Another factor that can cause this problem is a third party app you installed in your phone. Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs.  If it doesn’t then the problem is most likely caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the problem still occurs even in Safe Mode then you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Should the above steps fail to fix the problem I suggest you contact your carrier regarding this as this could already be an account related problem.

Note 5 Can’t Make Conference Calls

Problem: My phone is running very smooth the only trouble i’m having right now is with my conference calls. Actually i’m not being able to do conference calls from my galaxy note 5. Whenever i’m trying to add another call it’s been disconnected showing “unable to switch calls”. Plz kindly help me what’s the issue..im really tensed. Plz reply back soon. Ty!

Solution: Most carriers offer call conferencing as an additional service. Make sure to check with your carrier if your current subscription is able to make a call conference. If you have call conferencing enabled in your subscription then make sure that you are performing the correct steps in making a conference call. Listed below are the steps that you should do.

  • Tap Phone from any Home screen.
  • Enter the number you want to call and then tap the Phone icon located at the bottom of the screen. You can also go to the Contacts tab, and then tap the contact number.
  • Tap the Phone icon to make the call.
  • Tap Add Call.
  • Enter the contact name/number you’d like to add, and then tap the Phone icon.
  • Tap Merge.
  • To manage the call, tap Manage.
  • To end the call, tap the End call icon next to the call you want to end.
  • When you want to end the conference call, tap the End Call icon at the bottom of the screen.

If the steps above fail then try doing the same procedure in Safe Mode. If you are able to make a conference call in this mode then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded in your phone. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

Should the above troubleshooting steps fail I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Note 5 Call Sound Not Good

Problem: Hi,  my phone sounds horrible when trying to use it as a phone. Whether using the oh so quiet speakerphone or not, the sound is stuttery. It doesn’t exactly crackle though, perhaps something between those 2 sounds.  It makes it very difficult to understand people. I’ve tried lowering the volume, that didn’t change anything. 🙁 thanks for any advice you have.

Solution: Does you phone have a case installed? Sometimes this case can interfere with the sound of the device. Try taking out this case then check if the issue still occurs. You should also clean the internal and external speaker grill and make sure that it is free from dirt or debris.

Another factor that you should consider is that the problem is caused by the network. Try checking if this issue occurs in other locations.

One last checking that you should do is on the phone software. Start by wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. This deletes the temporary data in the device which could be causing the problem. Restart the phone then check if the issue still occurs. Next, check if the problem is caused by an app installed in your phone by starting the device in Safe Mode. Make a call in this mode then check if the issue occurs. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. One last software troubleshooting that you can do is a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing this.

Note 5 Reboots During Calls

Problem: i have problem on my note 5 phone whenever i’m calling or someone is calling it just last for 3-5 minutes and suddenly it keeps on rebooting itself and “Kernel is not SEAndroid Enforcing” is appearing. Sometimes though i’m not using it it just keeps on restarting itself. please help me to fix it. now i’m using the phone for browsing only and texting.. please help! i have tried many times to reset my phone but it does not work.

Solution: Since you have already performed numerous factory resets which doesn’t fix the problem you should try updating the phone software or flash the phone with its updated stock firmware. If you go the flashing route then check out the various popular android forums online on how to do this procedure.

If updating the phone software or flashing the phone software fails to fix the problem then this could already be hardware related. I suggest you have your phone checked at a service center if this is the case.

Note 5 Voice Call Cuts Out

Problem: I have this phone Note 5 since January 2016. since then, when make or receive calls the other party can’t hear me properly. They say that my voice cuts off and they don’t understand what I am calling for.  my voice just cuts off every  other second. I also never have anywhere a good receptions. the most I get  only 2 bars. I contacted AT&T a few times already but nothing has changed.  I had iPhone before and I didn’t any issue with it. Please help me what can I do with this phone.

Solution: Does this problem occur in only one location or does it occur in other locations as well? If it’s only in one particular location then this might be a reception related issue. Your phone isn’t getting good reception from the towers causing your voice to cut off.

Another possible factor that can cause this problem is the phone software. To check if this is the case try wiping the cache partition of your phone first from the recovery mode. Restart your phone then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then proceed a factory reset. Just make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

Note 5 Microphone Stops Working During Calls

Problem: When on phone calls, about 5 minutes into a call, whether on a bluetooth headset or not, my mic stops working as people can’t hear me. I can hear them, they can’t hear me. I have noticed that this is the exact time my phone goes into a sleep mode or battery saving mode. I wonder if there is a setting or something that is not correctly set. Once I have been using a few apps that could be part of it but I have had them for awhile. DU Battery Saver, CM Security and Optimize

Solution: This might be a software problem since the microphone should not stop working during calls. Try wiping the cache partition of your phone first from recovery mode then check if the issue still occurs. You should also check if an app you installed in your device is causing the problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode and checking if the issue occurs. If it doesn’t then it’s very likely caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

One last troubleshooting step that you should consider is a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing this.

  1. I have on contact that calls and the caller id displays voicemail. This has not always happened.I know it’s her because she is the only contact this happens to. Is this because of something on her end or is it something with my phone?
