J5 Cannot Send Text Message To Premium Number

Problem: If I send messages to a number that requires money then the message fail although there’s airtime on the phone. I tried everything but nothing works. Can you please help me because the problem is with this device. if I put my sim card into another phone the message go through.

Solution: This might just be a setting related issue which can be fixed by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Press the Menu key from the home screen.
  • Select Settings.
  • Select the More tab at the top right corner of your screen.
  • Select Application Manager.
  • Slide the screen to the All section.
  • Select Messages.
  • Under the Permissions section you will find a drop down menu with 3 options for Sending Premium SMS
  • Select the desired option (Ask  or Alway Allow)

There are instances when the above setting can’t be found on the phone. If this is the case then your other option is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete try sending a text message to a premium number. You will be prompted to allow the sending or to block it. Make sure to choose always allow.

J5 Not Turning On After Charging

Problem: I woke early and my phone was working fine then I charged it and went back to sleep. I woke up again, took it out of it’s charger but the green light is still on and I can’t turn on my phone. I didn’t turn it off, I just locked it and let it charge because it was in low battery. It just wouldn’t turn on. I need to get it fixed now cause I’ll be starting college tomorrow and I need my phone to work please!!!

Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this case is to remove the battery from the phone then press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This discharges the phone circuit and clears the RAM. Reinsert the battery then try to check if the phone turns on. In case you have the 2017 model then your phone will have a non-removable battery. What you will need to do in this case is to press and hold both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. This simulates a battery pull. Your phone should restart after this. If the phone does not turn on then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using  a different charging cord and wall charger.
  • You should also check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port.
  • Turn on the phone.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

J5 Connected Charger Is Incompatible With Phone Error

Problem: Suddenly quit charging completely. When I plug in it says ” The connected charger is incompatible with this phone. To prevent damage to your phone, charging has been stopped. To continue charging, use the original charger and cable that were provided with this phone.” I have replaced the charger and cable with new OEM items.  — Didn’t help. Tried – Turn on, remove battery, hold power button one minute, replace battery and cover, — Didn’t Help. Will not charge on original OEM plug in charger, won’t charge in vehicle, won’t charge with laptop usb. Could it possibly be a downloaded app. or virus? When plugged into laptop (MacBook Air) It doesn’t show up as an external device – can’t backup. Any recommendations to try next?

Solution: You should try cleaning the charging port of the phone first as the problem could be caused by dirt or debris stuck in the port. Use a can of compressed air when cleaning the port. In case the issue still persists then the next step is to check if a software glitch is causing this problem by doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this might already be a hardware related issue possibly caused by a defective  charging port. You will need to bring this phone to a service center and have it checked.

J5 Forgotten Google Account After Master Reset

Problem: bought samsung j5 from a friend, use it for a while, accidentally someone master reset my phone and when i attempt to get back to my phone it ask for the google account unfortunately my friend does not remember the google account he used. Kindly assist

Solution: Unfortunately you will need the Google account that was connected to this phone before the master reset was performed. If the account can’t be retrieved then you will need to bypass this security feature. You will have to do a Google search to find out the best method to bypass the factory reset protection of this device since some methods work while others don’t.

J5 Screen Flickers When Unlocked

Problem: Hi there, My screen is flickering when I try to unlock it – it only seems to occur when the phone hasn’t been used for a while (although it is intermittent). Sometimes I have to hit the home and lock buttons 10+ times before the screen comes on properly. Is this a common issue and do you know if it is repairable (or for that matter if it is a software issue)

Solution: What you will need to do first in this case is to check if the problem is software related by performing the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. Does the issue occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install ay apps in your phone yet. Instead, try checking if the issue still occurs.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this could already be a hardware related problem in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

J5 Wi-Fi Does Not Turn On

Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 and I can’t get the wifi to turn on.  I have wiped the cache, taken out my sd card, did a system restore, basically everything I have read as a possible solution, I have tried.  It is driving me crazy because I keep using up my data since the wifi won’t work. I would appreciate any help you can give me.  I would be forever in your debt.

Solution: If you have already performed a factory reset and the Wi-Fi still does not turn on then it’s possible that the problem is already caused by a faulty Wi-Fi chip. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
