A5 Turns Off Randomly

Problem: Hi, I have a Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 edition. Recently noticed a problem with it, after charging and showing 100%, would use it for a short while but then it would turn off randomly. After taking off the strong cover, i noticed down one side that then phone seems to have come apart at the seam line slightly. I took back into the shop where i bought it and the chap suggested the battery had exploded and it would cost more than the phone is worth to have it fixed. I paid a lot of money for this phone (warranty has run out now) and am trying to find out if it can be fixed just by putting in a new battery or something similar? Please can you offer any advice?

Solution: If the battery of the phone has exploded then you could try having it replaced with a new one as it does not cost a lot to get a new battery. In case the phone still does not work then some other internal component has been affected in which case you will need to have the phone assessed again. If the cost of replacing the damaged component is not economically viable then you should just get a new phone.

A5 No Cellular Network

Problem: Not rooted, and I AM not ready to do so even if I could, phone is a nightmare. Any software updates are futile, as the bootloader is unknown, the cellular network is missing, I have called the carrier & all they tell me is that it looks fine from their side, or they leave me hanging long enough to hang up on me…, the play store, which I feel is a huge part of this catastrophe, lies to me, says apps are up to date or installed & refuses to allow me to go externally through secure website to download … & I AM constantly catching Play Store overdrawing apps as so it can gain further permissions & accesses even when I do not revoke permissions, disable or continuously task kill it from gaining internet access. … Forget any antivirus, as each one seems to only be good for a mere moment, if any issues are found, my phone spazzes & then comes back to life to say everything is fine “no issues” .. & when I go back to sign in after setting up my subscription, I get a “cannot reach network, try again later” error code ..& not only with antiviruses, with any productive app or tool … I haven’t any access to the phone for its general properties of calls & text except via Facebook/Messenger. If I do gain access, with a new app, it is only temporary, the try again later soon turning to “wrong password, try again” ….. Sometimes when I finally get past the redirects, to a page with a secure certificate & proper information, it will be in Russian, almost always in Russian … & forget about the downloads from important sites, the files, which I must monitor very closely, are usually either the wrong platform, version, or format I clicked to be downloaded …even from Play Store. Any browser is only good for the 1st use, as soon as Play Store does its update, it begins acting like it’s being controlled by redirects. So much if the time I get .pda when I went for an .apk, which then becomes a “no app to open” turd….. There are quite a few more issues, & new ones seem to be manifesting daily, …. AM I the victim if foul play? Or is my play foul? I have done the soft reset, the factory reset, many times …this has been so, on this phone, for about 3 months now I Pray I not appear as an idiot who is only complicating the simple problem, but I cannot seem to find reliable information, & AM tired of being hung up on or told all my problems should be fine if I restart my phone. Thank you for your time & patience, if u have any clues to what ails me, please submit, & do not worry for my feelings, if I AM my problem, (as I have been trying to figure it in my own) please tell me so I can fail with dignity. *This is reason for my introduction above, of these issues. I need no more bricks & I have been battling this for a long time now. Thank You Kindly & I apologize for my rant … Guess I found you as I found the proverbial last straw.

Solution: the best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then start the phone in recovery mode. From here perform both steps listed below.

  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone.
  • Perform a factory reset.

Once the above steps have been completed do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then you should consider flashing your phone with its updated firmware file using Odin. You can download the firmware file of your phone from the Sammobile website which should also have the instructions on how to flash your phone.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this is most likely caused by a hardware component that is failing to work properly. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

A5 Stuck In Blinking Samsung Logo

Problem: I activated power saving mode as battery was low. Got home and recharged battery. When 100%, saw saving mode still activated. pressed ‘Restart’ and the phone came up with black screen and pulsing white Samsung logo. Nothing will alter this state. Have tried Power/vol down; power/vol up/home. No change. Are you able to assist? Thanks & regards

Solution: If pressing the power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds does not work then try starting the phone in recovery mode then from here wipe the cache partition of the phone. Once this is down restart the phone. In case the issue persists then your last option is to start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

A5 Stuck On Samsung Logo

Problem: Hello, last night I was trying out something on my Samsung A5.  i wanted to uninstall a pre-installed app and it worked, then i wanted to make a third party app be a system app, the first one worked, while doing the second one, it worked but when i tried to restart my phone it couldn’t boot up. it got stuck on the word Samsung. it cannot continue from there. its stuck on the word. i have tried to do a factory reset and cache partition wiping, still cannot continue, Please help. i love my phone.

Solution: If a factory reset fails to fix the problem then you should consider flashing the phone with its updated stock firmware file using Odin. You can get this file from the Sammobile website which is also where you can get the instructions on how to flash your phone.
