Samsung Galaxy A5 Screen Is Black After Drop Issue & Other Related Problems

This particular model is one of the high end mid range smartphones that the company has released which is aimed at consumers who want a premium looking phone that does not cost a lot. Some of the outstanding features of this device are its aluminum body,  5.3 inch Super AMOLED display at FullHD resolution, 16MP camera, and its 3000mAh battery just to name a few. Although this is a solid phone there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy A5 screen is black after drop issue & other related problems.

A5 Screen Is Black After Drop

Problem: Hi i have a samsung a5 2017 and i have just dropped it from a table. The phone is totally dead and has no response when i tried the method of pressing the power button and the volume down button at the same time. The phone did not respond when i charged it. However when i connected the phone to the computer,it happened that the computer has connected to the phone but show no content or file in it. But the phone vibrated when i picked it up as usual as it is one of the phone function if there is an unread notification when picking up the phone. Also, my phone did rang when it received a call just that the screen is all black. *I am not sure which version of android my phone has.

Solution: It looks like the display of the phone got damaged by the drop. To check if this is the case you should start the phone in recovery mode and if the display works in this mode then I suggest that you do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. In case the screen remains black in recovery mode then this is most likely a hardware related issue already in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

A5 SIM Card Manager Keeps Changing Preferred SIM

Problem: My Sim card manager is continuously changing the prefered sim card from sim 1 to sim 2 and turning off mobile data, please help me in this issue.

Solution: It’s very likely that this problem is caused by a software glitch. To check if this is the case you will need to perform the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be a hardware related problem.

A5 Myscript ResourceManager Has Stopped

Problem: HELP!!! So i did a factory reset on my phone and it gives me this error…Unfortunately MyScript Resource Manager has stopped. So I can’t bring up any keyboard to enter in any info for wifi etc.. Can’t continue to do anything.

Solution: To fix this problem you will need to start the phone in recovery mode then from here perform the two steps listed below.

  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone.
  • Perform a factory reset.

Remove the microSD card if your phone has one then restart the phone.

A5 Screen Display Automatically Goes To The Bottom

Problem: When I go to any screen that has more information than is available on the screen, the phone goes all the way to the bottom of the information and I am not able to swipe the screen down to go to the top of the page.  For example, I bring up settings and I can’t move the screen to the top of that information.  This problem just started.  I have powered down and turned the phone back on and it made no difference.  I can’t answer the Android version below because I can’t swipe the screen to view what it is. What else can I try to fix this issue?

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If the problem still occurs after the reset then the display of the phone could be faulty. You will need to have this checked at a service center.

A5 Not Charging Not Turning On

Problem: Problem of the mobile is Samsung galaxy a5…I was using the phone till 0% ..after the mobile switched off ..I’ll tried to put charge on that mobile ..but it won’t turn on and charging .

Solution: If the battery of the phone has been fully drained then it will take some time for the phone to respond when you charge it. Try leaving the phone charging for 20 minutes then check if you are able to turn it on. If the issue persists then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port.
  • Try charging the phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger.
  • If the phone does not charge then try charging it from a computer USB port.
  • To turn on the phone press and hold the power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.

In case the issue persists then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

A5 Turns Off On Its Own

Problem:  I actually have a problem with my Samsung A5 2016 that keeps turning off on its own no matter the amount of the battery left so i can’t use the phone if it’s not with the charger. I tried deleting all the cached data and even master resetting like the post guide indicated yet nothing changed

Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try removing it as this might be causing the problem. If the issue persists and since you have already performed a factory reset then this might already be a hardware related problem in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

A5 Camera Has Stopped Working

Problem: My camera is not working. When i press the app the screen goes black and nothing happens. It says camera has stopped working

Solution: To fix this problem try clearing the cache and data of the camera app from the application manager. If the issue still persists then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
