M8 “No internet calling account, would you like to add one” Error

Problem: When I have to make a phone call I naturally go to through my contacts to find the period am looking for. But when I press to call it always says “”No internet calling account, would you like to add one””. “”No”” Isn’t an option only cancel and add. So I enend up having to start a text with the person and call using the short cut. When I dial it works just fine. It a only when I call directly from my contact list. I hope you can help me please. Thank YOU!

Solution:  You may have set your phonebook to place calls using the Internet calling feature as a default. Try resetting the app preferences of your phone by going to settings – apps – hit the three dot icon on the top right then tap reset app preferences.

M8 Difficult To Answer Incoming Calls

Problem: It is nearly impossible to answer incoming calls either when I swipe up or tap the answer word when the phone is horizontal or vertical. This happens with the dot view case on and off the phone. I estimate losing 90% of my incoming calls. Can you help?

Solution: Does your phone have a screen protector attached? If it has then this may be interfering with the sensitivity of the screen. Try taking it out if you have one installed. You should also try wiping your screen with a microfiber cloth or cotton to eliminate any dirt or smudges that may affect its touch sensitivity.

Try to restart your phone then check if the issue still occurs. A restart fixes several common issues as this refreshes your phone software.

Another factor to check is if a certain third party app installed in your phone is causing this issue to occur. To check on this you should start your phone in Safe Mode.

  • Press and hold the Power key.
  • On the screen, touch and hold Power off under Phone Options.
  • When the ‘Reboot to safe mode’ message appears, tap RESTART.
  • When the phone restarts it will be in safe mode.

If you can answer calls without any problem in this mode then the issue may be caused by an app you installed in your phone. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If however the issue persists then try wiping the cache partition of your phone.

  • Turn off the device.
  • Press and hold the Volume Down key.
  • Press and release the Power key to turn the phone on.
  • Continue holding the Volume Down.
  • Release the Volume Down key when the three Android images appear on the bottom of the screen.
  • Press the Volume Down key once to move the cursor from FASTBOOT to RECOVERY.
  • Press the Power key to begin the wipe.
  • The device displays the bootup screen followed by a phone with a red triangle.
  • Press the Up Volume key and Power key at the same time.
  • Press the Down Volume key three times to select Wipe cache partition.
  • Press the Power key to initiate the wipe.
  • Wait until the phone displays Cache wipe complete.
  • Press the Power key to select Reboot system now.

If the problem still occurs then backup your phone data and do a factory reset.

  • Press and hold the Power button
  • Tap Power off.
  • Press and hold the Volume Down key.
  • Press and release the Power key to turn the phone on.
  • Continue holding the Volume Down key.
  • Release the Volume Down key when the three Android images appear on the bottom of the screen.
  • Press the Volume Down key twice to move the cursor from FASTBOOT to FACTORY RESET.
  • Press the Power key to perform the master reset.

M8 Can’t Call After Factory Reset

Problem: I recently had to do a factory reset and now I cannot call out.  I try to call it pulls up like it is going to call then it hangs up.  It did this right after the update and a guy @ the ATT sevice center fixed it but didn’t show me what he did.  Said it has to do with internet calling and the new software and turned something off.  With the factory reset its back to doing it again and I do not know what he did.  I am hoping you can help caus eI have conference calls tomorrow night.

Solution: Try to check if there are any new software updates available for your phone and apply them. This was an issue previously but I think it has been resolved by a minor software update. if your phone is already running on the latest software update then try to reset your phone app preferences. Go to settings – apps – hit the three dot icon on the top right then tap reset app preferences.

M8 Can’t Access Internet When On A Call

Problem: When I first got phone 1 week ago I could be on internet during a call now I can’t……what do you think the problem is?

Solution: It may be a signal related issue. Have you checked if your phone is getting a 4G signal while you are on a call? f you are not getting any 4G signal then you may not be able to connect to the Internet since the call connection may be using all of the 3G spectrum.

One way to fix this issue is to use a Wi-Fi connection when connecting to the Internet while making a call. You will be able to go online and be on a call at the same time.

M8 Mic Not Working On Calls

Problem: When try I to talk to someone the mic wont work unless I’m using headphones or speakerphone. Also the music keeps changing unless the phone is flat on the table. The phone is brand new, i bought it yesterday.

Solution:  Try to check first if your mic is indeed working by opening the voice recorder app then make a short record. Playback the record and check if you can hear your voice. If you can’t hear your voice then the mic of your phone may be damaged. To further check on this  try inserting then removing your headphones from the headphone jack a couple of times. This fixes any issues with the software being stuck in headphone mode which may be the reason why your voice can’t be heard.

Try also to wipe the cache partition of your phone to eliminate any problems caused by a corrupt data.

If the issue persists then backup your phone data and do a factory reset.

If you are still having the same problem at this point then the mic of your phone may be damaged. Bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
