Fixing Galaxy A60 that won’t turn on

Most of the time, when a smartphone powers down on its own and would no longer turn back on, it’s due to a firmware crash. It’s a pretty minor issue but it leaves the phone unresponsive and users may think it’s a hardware issue when in fact, it’s just a firmware problem. With that being said, here’s what you need to do to make your Galaxy A60 turn on again.

First solution: Perform the Forced Restart

In troubleshooting a smartphone like this Galaxy A60 that won’t turn on, the first thing you should do is the forced restart. It’s a simulated battery removal that often refreshes your phone’s memory and reloads all its apps and services. Most of the time, it’s the best solution to a system crash. Here’s how it’s done:

  1. Press and hold the Volume Down button and don’t release it yet.
  2. While holding down the volume button, press and hold the Power key as well.
  3. Keep both keys held down together for 15 seconds or until the Galaxy A60 logo shows on the screen.

If your phone responds to this procedure and actually shows the logo and continues to boot up, then the problem is already fixed. However, if it still won’t turn on after this, then try doing the same procedure a few more times and continue with the next method if the problem remains.

Second solution: Connect to charger and do the forced restart

There are times when a simple battery draining issue would cause the firmware to crash. It’s because some services and components are shut down when the battery reaches a critical level. Sometimes this would also cause the firmware to crash especially if you let the battery run out. As a result, you’ll be dealing with a couple of pretty minor issues that both result to an unresponsive device. To address this, here’s what you need to do:

  1. Plug the charger to a working wall outlet.
  2. Using the original cable, connect the phone to its charger.
  3. Regardless of whether the phone shows the charging symbol or not, leave it connected to the charger for at least 10 minutes.
  4. After which and while the phone is still connected to the charger, press and hold the Volume Down button and don’t release it yet.
  5. While holding down the volume button, press and hold the Power key as well.
  6. Keep both keys held down together for 15 seconds or until the Galaxy A60 logo shows on the screen.

Assuming that your phone doesn’t have any signs of physical and/or liquid damage, these procedures will fix this problem. However, if your Galaxy A60 won’t turn on even after all this, then it’s time to bring the device back to the store so that a technician can check it up for you.
