Pandora keeps stopping on Samsung Galaxy A50. Here’s the fix.

Pandora is a go-to app for people who loves to listen to the radio and being one of the most popular apps in the Play Store, it’s being updated regularly so that problems are addressed as soon as they occur. Fix Galaxy A50 with Pandora keeps stopping error

The following solutions are very effective in fixing app-related problems such as crashes and force closes. You may not have to do them all so try to see which one works for you.

First solution: Reboot your Galaxy A50

Before doing anything, make sure you reboot your phone first because it often solves a lot of minor issues. Pandora may be crashing due to some issues with the firmware of the app itself. So, hit that power key and restart your phone. If it still crashes after that, try doing the Forced Reboot procedure:

  • Press and hold both the volume down and power keys at the same time for 10 seconds or more.

It’s far more effective than just a normal reboot as it refreshes the phone’s memory, closes all apps running in the background and reloads all core functions and services. If, however, the ‘Pandora keeps stopping’ error still continues after this, then move on to the next solution.

Second solution: Reset Pandora

When it comes to apps, a reset means clearing their caches and data which brings them to their default settings or configuration. That’s what you need to do at this point. It’s a very effective solution especially if Pandora force closes or shows the error “Unfortunately, Pandora has stopped.”

  1. From a Home screen, touch and swipe up or down to display all apps.
  2. From a Home screen, navigate: Settings > Apps
  3. Tap App Manager.
  4. Locate then tap Pandora.
  5. Tap Storage.
  6. Tap CLEAR CACHE.
  7. Tap CLEAR DATA.

If the ‘Pandora keeps stopping’ error still shows up after this, then move on to the next solution.

Third solution: Uninstall Pandora and reinstall it

At this point, we will have to rule out the possibility that this problem is caused  by a compatibility issue between Pandora and the firmware. Usually, we would suggest to see if there’s an update for the app in question but I think it’s always better to just uninstall the app from your phone and reinstall it.

By uninstalling the app, you’re removing all its associations with other apps and services. It’s very effective if the cause of the problem is corrupt files and data. Here’s how you uninstall the app from your phone:

  1. From a Home screen, touch and swipe up or down to display all apps.
  2. From a Home screen, navigate: Settings > Apps
  3. Tap App Manager.
  4. Locate then tap Pandora.
  5. Tap UNINSTALL.
  6. Review the notification then tap OK to confirm.
  7. Reboot your phone to refresh it’s memory and other connections.

Now, to reinstall Pandora, follow these steps…

  1. From a Home screen, touch and swipe up or down to display all apps.
  2. Tap Play Store.
  3. Type ‘pandora’ in the search box.
  4. Select Pandora then tap Install.
  5. To continue, review the required app permissions then tap Accept.

By reinstalling it, you’re making sure you have the latest version of Pandora in your phone. If by any chance the problem continues to bug you after this, then you may have to reset your phone. But before you actually do that, make sure to backup your files and data as they will be deleted and you may not be able to retrieve them. And since we will be using the Master Reset in this tutorial, remove your google account from your phone so that you won’t be locked out after the reset. Once everything is set and ready, follow these steps:

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up and Power keys.
  3. When the Galaxy A50 logo shows, release all three keys.
  4. Your Galaxy A50 will continue to boot up into the Recovery Mode. Once you see a black screen with blue and yellow texts, proceed to the next step.
  5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset’.
  6. Press Power button to select.
  7. Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes’ is highlighted.
  8. Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
  9. When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  10. Press the Power key to restart the device.
