Zedge keeps stopping on Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus. Here’s the fix.

While the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus is already a great phone, it will become more lively if you use a video wallpaper that will showcase how good it’s vivid display. When it comes to moving wallpapers, I personally use Zedge as it offers really cool stuff for free. Recently, however, it seems like the app is acting app. It closes on its own just before you can choose or download a wallpaper and when you open it again, the error ‘Zedge keeps stopping’ shows.

Basically, what this means is that the app keeps crashing for some reason. But problems like this are, most of the time, an issue with the app itself and not your phone. Fixing ‘Zedge keeps stopping’ error on Galaxy S10 Plus

Most of the time, this problem is pretty minor and you can fix it by doing a one or a couple of procedures. That’s what I’m gonna share with you in this guide. With that said, here’s what you need to do…

First solution: Clear Zedge cache and data

When it comes to app issues, this procedure has been proven to be very effective. What it does is delete the app’s cache and data files, and replace them with new ones. In other words, this will reset the app. Most of the time, when an app crashes, it can be due to some corrupt cache and data. That’s the reason why this procedure can make Zedge work perfectly again. Here’s how you do it:

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to pull the notification panel down.
  2. Tap the Settings icon on the upper-right corner.
  3. Scroll to and then tap Apps.
  4. Find and tap Zedge.
  5. Tap Storage.
  6. Touch Clear cache.
  7. Touch Clear data and then tap OK to confirm.

Once your phone has successfully rebooted, try opening the app and see if the error ‘Zedge keeps stopping’ still pops up. If it still does, then you have to jump to the next solution.

Second solution: Uninstall and reinstall Zedge

If the ‘Zedge keeps stopping’ error continues to bug you even after doing the first procedure, then the next thing you have to do is to get rid of the app. Uninstall it so that all its associations with other apps and your phone’s firmware will also be removed. After which, reinstall it. If it’s just an issue with the app, then this will definitely fix it. Here’s how it’s done…

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to pull the notification panel down.
  2. Tap the Settings icon on the upper-right corner.
  3. Scroll to and then tap Apps.
  4. Find and tap Zedge.
  5. Tap Storage.
  6. Touch Clear data and tap OK to confirm.
  7. Tap the back key once and then touch Uninstall.
  8. Confirm that you want to remove the app from your phone.
  9. Restart your phone to release some RAM.

Once your phone has successfully restarted, follow these steps to reinstall Zedge…

  1. From the home screen, pull up the app drawer.
  2. Find and then tap Google Play Store.
  3. In the search field, key in ‘zedge’ and then hit search.
  4. Tap Zedge and then touch Install.
  5. Once the installation is complete, tap Open.

This will definitely fix the problem or get rid of the ‘Zedge keeps stopping’ error on your Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus. However, if the same problem keeps on repeating in the future, you may consider resetting your phone back to factory defaults.
