Oppo Find X2 Pro Can’t Send / Receive Text Messages
In this troubleshooting guide, we will show you what to do if your Oppo Find X2 Pro can’t send or receive text messages. Most of the time, texting problems aren’t really that serious. In fact, you may be able to fix it by doing one or a couple of procedures. Read on to learn more.
When a high-end smartphone like Oppo Find X2 Pro can’t send or receive text messages, there is always a possibility that it’s an issue with the network. But in some cases we’ve encountered before, it is always possible that it’s also just a minor problem with your device. In other words, you can never be sure of the cause of this problem, that’s why you need to do some troubleshooting procedures to know more about it.
It’s in knowing the cause that you may be able to fix the problem properly and prevent it from happening again in the future. With all that being said, here are the things you need to do:
First solution: Refresh your phone’s memory
The first thing that you have to do if this problem occurred without apparent reason is to refresh your phone’s memory. And doing so, you’re also refreshing the network or wireless services of your device.
It’s possible that such a problem is just due to a pretty minor system glitch or network problem. So try doing the forced restart first. Here’s how:
- To do so, press and hold the Volume Down button and the Power key for 10 seconds.
- When the logo shows, release both keys and wait until the device finishes the reboot.
Once your phone has finished the reboot, try sending a text message to your own number to see if it goes through and if you can actually receive it. If the problem isn’t fixed, try the next solution.
Second solution: Check the signal
When it comes to texting, the signal is most important. That’s why after doing the forced restart and your Oppo Find X2 Pro is still not able to send and receive SMS, what you have to do next is make sure it has a decent reception.
Just check the signal indicator on the status bar to know the strength of the signal your device gets. If it only has around 1 or 2 bars, it’s possible that a poor reception is causing this problem. And if you happen to be in a closed space when this problem occurs, then it means it’s a signal problem, but it’s not really a problem as it will be fixed once you’re in an area with good reception.
It will only be a problem if your phone is getting a good reception but text messages aren’t sent or received.
Third solution: Try making a call
Disable the WiFi calling feature first and then try making a phone call to see if your phone is still capable of doing that. If it can make a call just fine, then the problem is with the text only and it’s pretty clear that it’s not a network problem.
However, if you can’t make phone calls either, then it might be an issue with the network and you may need to reset your phone because of it. But before you actually do that, try calling the tech support first to inquire about possible account-related problems.
Fourth solution: Factory reset your phone
You may do this procedure after or while on the line with a representative. It’s important at this point that you make a report about the problem. If it’s an account issue, the representative will be able to help you. The same goes if it’s a problem at the service level.
However, if you’ve verified that it’s not an account-related issue, then you may have to reset your device. A factory reset will be able to fix all sorts of software issues including this one. But make sure to back up your important files and data before doing so.
So basically, if your Oppo Find X2 Pro can’t send or receive text messages, you will have to do a few troubleshooting procedures to try and fix the issue. Then you will need to seek assistance from your service provider before deciding to reset the device.
We hope that this troubleshooting guide can help you.
