How to clear app cache and data on LG G6

It is important that you know how to clear the caches and data of the apps on your LG G6 because there are always times when they crash and you’ll have to do something about it to make them work again. App related issues can more often be fixed by this procedure and that should tell you the importance of this method.

In LG G6, you can choose to display the menu in either Tab or List view so depending on how you display the menu, here’s what you need to do to clear the cache and data of your apps:

Tab view

  1. Tap Settings.
  2. Tap the General tab.
  3. Under ‘PHONE MANAGEMENT,’ tap Apps.
  4. Tap the desired app.
  5. Tap Storage > Clear cache / data > OK.

List view

  1. Tap Settings.
  2. Tap the General tab.
  3. Under ‘DEVICE,’ tap Apps.
  4. Tap the desired app.
  5. Tap Storage > Clear cache / data > OK.

How to uninstall apps from LG G6

More often than not, apps issues can easily be fixed by this procedure, however, if the problem remained after doing it, then it’s time you uninstall suspected app. Please note that only third-party apps can be uninstalled, built-in apps need you to have root access to uninstall them.

How to hide / show apps on your LG G6

There are apps you might not want to use but since they’ve accumulated some important data, you don’t want to uninstall them. In your LG G6, you can actually hide an app that shouldn’t be used anymore but it remains in the system. When hidden, these apps could not receive updates as well. If there are apps you want hidden, this is how you do it:

Tab view

  1. Tap Settings.
  2. Tap the Display tab.
  3. Tap Home screen.
  4. Under ‘LAYOUT,’ tap Hide apps.
  5. Tap any apps you want to hide.
  6. Tap DONE.

List view

  1. Tap Settings.
  2. Under ‘Device,’ tap Home screen.
  3. Under ‘LAYOUT,’ tap Hide apps.
  4. Tap any apps you want to hide.
  5. Tap DONE.

To unhide apps you’ve already hidden, this is how you do it:

  1. Tap Settings.
  2. Tap the Display tab.

How to manipulate the web browser on your LG G6

In this section, we will walk you through in using and manipulating the web browser–Chrome–of your phone. Below, you will find the procedures to clear cache, cookies and browsing history of the browser. You will also learn how to open and/or close a tab or window and lastly, know how to turn Javascript on/off.

Clear cache / cookies / history

  1. From any home screen, tap the Chrome icon.
  2. Tap Menu > History.
  3. Tap CLEAR BROWSING DATA.
  4. Tap the Clear data from the drop-down and set the duration:
    • past hour
    • past day
    • past week
    • past 4 weeks
    • beginning of time
  5. Tap to select the desired check boxes for what to clear:
    • Browsing history
    • Cookies and site data
    • Cached images and files
    • Saved passwords
    • Auto form data
  6. Tap CLEAR DATA.

Open / close tabs / windows

  1. From any home screen, tap Chrome.
  2. Tap Menu > New tab.
  3. To close a tab, tap the X in the upper left-hand corner of the window.

Turn on / off JavaScript

  1. From any home screen, tap Chrome.
  2. Tap Menu > Settings
  3. Under ‘Advanced,’  tap Site settings.
  4. Tap JavaScript.
  5. Tap the JavaScript switch on or off.

    NO RINGTONE NO SOUND NOTIFICATION, NO MUSIC ON SPEAKEARS. ONLY SOUND I HAVE IS THUE HEADSET.
