To optimize the battery on your Galaxy S7 Edge:

  1. From the Home screen, touch Apps.
  2. Touch Settings.
  3. Touch Device maintenance.
  4. At the bottom, tap Battery.
  5. If there’s an app or service that’s draining the battery, the FIX NOW button should be lighted orange and you should be able to tap on it.

Under the Battery section, you can also use Power Saving Mode options: Mid and Max.

If you select MID, your Galaxy S7 will reduce some battery consumption by slowing the CPU, toning down screen brightness, and changing the resolution.

If you use MAX, there will drastic changes, essentially making your phone a “dumb” phone. You’ll be limited to the most basic services and functionality and the screen will switch to grayscale. This however can give the battery more boost to allow it power the device longer.

In general, Power saving mode conserves battery power by limiting CPU performance, reducing screen brightness, and turning off the touch key light and vibration feedback. You can turn on Power saving mode manually, or you can set your device to go into Power saving mode automatically.
