Aside from using the common features of a phone, most smartphone owners turn their devices into music players because phones like the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus (#Samsung #GalaxyS6EdgePlus) pack high quality audio, which is irresistible for music lovers.

Aside from that, owners can actually use equalizers to even optimize the sound their preferences or use headphones or Bluetooth headsets that also enhance audio. In other words, owners expect the S6 Edge+ to produce awesome sounds and when it fails, frustration sets in.

Troubleshooting Tips

If you have issues with the audio on your S6 Edge Plus, try to go through these troubleshooting tips and see if there’s something that can help you.

Tip 1: Always the check the volume if your phone doesn’t sound off. Remember that some services have their own volume settings and some apps may also have a setting that over rides the volume control of the device.

Tip 2: If the speaker doesn’t sound off, try plugging your headphones or headset to see if the device produces audio through them. There are times when the speaker gets busted especially if overused.

Tip 3: Should you hear unfamiliar sounds that play every few seconds or minutes (5 minutes max), then it’s the Notification Reminder that’s going off. You can find it under Accessibility in Settings.

  2. Galaxy S6 Edge Plus ringtone doesn’t sound off even if volume is set to max level

  5. Equalizer app stops working when track changes on Galaxy S6 Edge Plus

Unable to listen to music while talking on phone with Viber

Problem: I used to listen to music while also talking on phone especially viber using headset now it says unable to play during call.

Troubleshooting: Try to see if there’s an available update for Viber app and download it. Bettery yet, uninstall the app and download the latest version from Play Store. If there’s no available update though, try clearing the cache and data of the app.

  1. From any Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Scroll to ‘APPLICATIONS,’ then tap Application manager.
  4. Swipe right to the ALL screen.
  5. Scroll to and tap Viber.
  6. Tap Clear cache.
  7. Tap Clear data, then OK.

Galaxy S6 Edge Plus ringtone doesn’t sound off even if volume is set to max level

Problem: When I turn off my Bluetooth my phone will ring, but I do not know that it is ringing because no know  ring sound is coming from it even when vibrate is off. I have the sound turn all the way up. I am missing a lot of calls because I do not know or hear it ringing unless I am looking directly at the phone.

Troubleshooting: Go to the Notifications page in Settings and try to select a ringtone. When the window where you can select the tone pops up, press the Volume Up button and set it to the maximum level. That should work.

Galaxy S6 Edge Plus plays music tracks but with squelching sounds

Problem: When playing mp3’s from my S6 Edge Plus, or my daughter’s Note 5, there are squelching sharp sounds that happen throughout playback. I have used the Amazon app to play them,  as well as Google Music. The result is the same. Most of the music was purchased  via Amazon music app.

Troubleshooting: If two of the music apps play the same tracks and have exactly the same problems, then the problem isn’t with the phone or the app but with your music tracks. To verify this further, try other music apps and if thing happens, try downloading your music tracks again.

Galaxy S6 Edge+ plays sounds but not notifications

Problem: Hi, I read your troubleshooting tips online and I would like to ask for your help. I have a new Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+. There was no problem with it before but just a few days ago it started to irritate me because even though I’m not using it, there’s this boing boing sound. I don’t know where it comes from. Its not a notification or anything. Could you please help me?

Troubleshooting: That boing boing sound you hear every few seconds or minutes is still a notification sound but it doesn’t mean you have unread messages but unread notifications in one or some of your apps. The reason why this feature seems strange to a lot of S6 Edge+ owners is because it can’t be found under Notification settings but in Accessibility. It’s called Notification Reminder and you can disable it or make it sound off or vibrate.

Equalizer app stops working when track changes on Galaxy S6 Edge Plus

Problem: My equalizer stops working when I change a song in any app except the one from Samsung. The first song works, but then even when configured, the sound is like if there was no equalizer. When I play again a song in Samsung app and then return to Spotify, for example, and open the equalizer, it starts working again. How can I solve it? I’ve tried to erase the cache partition but it stills the same.

Troubleshooting: Apparently, the problem isn’t with the phone that’s why deleting the system cache didn’t yield any results. The issue is with the equalizer app you use and I don’t have an clue what app you’re using. But if it’s not working the way it should, try other apps instead.
