How to Fix RUST Keeps Freezing Issue on PC
RUST freezing could be caused by a game bug, corrupted game files, software conflict, or a computer issue that does not meet the minimum requirements, to mention a few examples. To resolve this, you’ll need to go through some troubleshooting procedures.
RUST is an online multiplayer survival game that is accessible on Steam. The basic purpose of the game is to survive in the environment by acquiring resources and robbing goods from other RUST players in the area. Players must also manage their health, thirst, and hunger to avoid dying during the game.
Playing RUST will freeze on my PC

Fix #2 Update graphics driver
RUST will freeze if have outdated graphics driver on your PC. Install the most recent graphics driver, which includes performance enhancements, updates, and bug fixes from the graphics card manufacturer, to resolve this issue. Follow the steps given below to manually upgrade the graphics driver:
Updating graphics card driver
Type Device Manager in the search bar on your desktop and then click the icon that appears in the results.
Click the Display adapters icon.
Right-click the Display adapter you are using to play and then click Update driver.
Choose Search automatically for drivers to automatically download drivers.
After you have installed the graphics card driver, check if RUST is still freezing.
Fix #3 Verify integrity of game files in local files tab
The freezing problem could be caused by missing or corrupted game files. To resolve this, you must use the Steam client to validate the integrity of these game files. If any local files are missing or corrupted, they will be quickly replaced by fresh ones retrieved from the official server.
Verifying integrity of game files
Open Steam client.
On your Steam launcher, click the Library tab.
Click on RUST and right-click then click Properties.
Click the Local Files tab and click Verify integrity of game files.
Fix #4 Adjust virtual memory section
If you’re still having freezing problems, it could be related to low virtual memory, try changing the Memory section. You can specify the initial, minimum, and maximum values.
Adjusting memory
On the search bar on your desktop, type View Advanced System Settings and click it from the search result.
Click Advanced then, go to the Performance tab and then click Settings.
Choose the Advanced option and select the Change option located under the Memory.
A window will appear, uncheck the box associated with the Automatically manage paging file size for all drives option and click on the C drive.
Choose the Custom Size and then type 4096 in Initial size (MB) and Maximum size (MB), then click on Set and hit OK.
Reboot your PC and check to see if the RUST game freezing is fixed.
Fix #5 Close background programs
Other apps running in the background of your PC while you play the game could be causing the game to freeze. If you want the game to utilize greater system resources, such as RAM and CPUs, close these background programs.

Right click on the Start menu then click on Task Manager.
Make sure to click on More details found at the bottom left part of the window if it appears.
Click on the Processes tab.
Right click on the apps running and select End task. Do this for all apps except RUST.
Fix #6 Power option
Check the power plan on your computer to see whether they are already set to high or maximum performance. If it isn’t, set it to High to get the most out of your game while avoiding freezing and performance concerns.

Fix #7 Opt-out of all beta program
Beta programs enable beta testers to test game updates before they are officially released, allowing them to submit feedback and review to developers. Some of the beta program releases may have intensified the game’s issues. To resolve the RUST freezing issue, opt-out of beta programs.
Run Steam.
On your launcher, click Steam, then click Settings.
In your Account tab, click Change.
Click the list box below Beta participation, Select NONE – Opt out of all beta programs, then click OK.
Next Relaunch the game.
Fix #8 Reinstall RUST
If none of the previous methods work, you will need to uninstall and reinstall RUST. Reinstalling the game will also result in a clean installation and the resolution of various difficulties and problems.
Uninstalling
Open the launcher.
Go to the library tab.
Right-click on RUST then click on manage then uninstall.
Select uninstall again to uninstall RUST.
Installing
Go to the Library tab.
Right-click on RUST then click on install.
Click next to proceed with the installation.
