Samsung Galaxy S8+ Moisture Detected In Charging Port Error

Problem: I took my brand new S8+ on vacation with me to the Philippines. 4 days into the 19 day trip, my phone got wet while we were kayaking around the islands. I was not concerned with it getting slightly wet (it was never submerged) as Samsung advertises the water-resistance of this phone. That night, when I plugged the phone in to charge, I got a message saying moisture was detected in the charging port and it could not charge. I unplugged it and let the phone dry overnight. The following day I was able to charge it. That night I got the same moisture detected message even though the phone had been dry all day. For the following 2 weeks, the phone was buggy and would sometimes charge, then not charge, charge quickly, then charge extremely slowly, or charge only 5% all night long. I called Samsung when I returned home to Canada and they said there is nothing that they can do under warranty as it is damage caused by liquid. So I am stuck with a very expensive, very buggy brand new paper weight….

Solution: This error message will usually occur if the phone detects that there is moisture in the charging port. Even if you have made sure that the port is already dry but if you are in a humid environment then the moisture will build up again resulting in the error message occuring. What you will want to do first in this case is to turn off the phone then use a hair dryer to remove any presence of moisture in the charging port. It’s also best to dip a cotton ( a Q Tip)  in alcohol then clean the charging port since it could have some residue build up which could also be causing this problem. Turn on the phone then check if the problem still occurs.

In case the issue persists then try using a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone. You should also consider doing a factory reset to eliminate any software related glitches that could be causing the problem. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should have the phone repaired at a service center.

S8+ Black Screen With Blue LED Light After Software Update

Problem: Hi, I just did an update on my Samsung Galaxy S8+, and my phone has turned off after the update, and I have not been able to turn it on since. The blue LED light flashes; however, the phone does not react whatsoever. I have tried to reboot it, but nothing has helped.

Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to make sure that the phone

Related Problem: I literally just bought a S8+ less than a week ago, it was working fine till 1 day ago I was on the phone, and all of a sudden the screen started acting up and just turned off. I haven’t dropped the phone. I got home to figure out what was wrong and I saw the notification blue light on and I could hear when I would receive a call or text. The screen is pitch black, I’ve tried pressing the volume up and down button along with the power and it seemed to had worked. I then placed my sim again and it is basically went to doing the same black screen and notification lights still on please help!!battery has sufficient charger. Charge the phone using its wall charger for at least 20 minutes. If the phone does not charge then clean its charging port using a can of compressed air then use a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone. You should also try charging the phone from a computer USB port.

Once the battery has sufficient charge try turning on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. If the issue still persists then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Remove the microSD card ( if you have one installed) then restart the phone.
  • Check if the phone can start in Safe Mode. In case it does then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is adn uninstall it.
  • Try starting the phone in recovery mode. If you can access this mode then you will need to do a factory reset here. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
