  2. Tap Accounts. If you don’t see “Accounts,” tap Users & accounts.

Aside from updating apps, you also want to update Android. Carrier or Android OS updates sometimes include fixes for known bugs too.

Solution 7: Observe on Safe Mode

There’s always a chance that a bad third party app may be interfering with Android that then results to this issue at hand. To check, kindly bring the phone to safe mode and see what happens.

  1. Turn the device off.
  2. Press and hold the Power key past the model name screen.
  3. When “SAMSUNG” appears on the screen, release the Power key.
  4. Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume down key.
  5. Continue to hold the Volume down key until the device finishes restarting.
  6. Safe mode will display in the bottom left corner of the screen.
  7. Release the Volume down key when you see Safe Mode.

Once the phone has restarted to safe mode, try to replicate the problem. If Play Store error 495 occured during an update, or when you’re installing an app, try any of them to see if happens on safe mode. If everything works fine on safe mode, then that means one of the apps is causing it.  To identify which of your apps is causing the trouble, you should boot the phone back to safe mode and follow these steps:

  1. Boot to safe mode.
  2. Check for the problem.
  3. Once you’ve confirmed that a third party app is to blame, you can start uninstalling apps individually. We suggest that you begin with the most recent ones you added.
  4. After you uninstall an app, restart the phone to normal mode and check for the problem.
  5. If your S9 is still problematic, repeat steps 1-4.

Solution 8: Switch to mobile data

As mentioned previously, we noticed that Play Store error 495 seems to be absent when on mobile data. If you’re only trying to update a few apps, then go ahead and switch to mobile data. However, if you’re trying to install a game or update that involves quite significant amount of GBs, then you should probably try a factory reset first.

Solution 9: Factory reset

Wiping the phone may be your option should none of the suggestions above has not helped so far. Before you do it, be sure to create a backup of your personal data to avoid losing them.
