Bose Soundlink is an exceptional Bluetooth speaker from Bose that’s perfect for users who are looking for a speaker that can cover the entire room but does not losses the quality of its audio. Given its great features, there are users experiencing issues concerning Bose Soundlink Bluetooth speaker wherein it won’t turn on. In here, we will tackle more about Bose Bluetooth speaker and the troubleshooting steps on how to fix the won’t turn on issue.
Fix Bose Soundlink Revolve speaker does not turn ON
One of the common reason why Bluetooth Speaker will not turn ON is because of a shorter battery life. This means that the level of the battery on the speaker drains much faster than what is expected. Try the following troubleshooting methods below to fix Bose Soundlink does not turn ON issue on your Bose Bluetooth speaker.
Before performing the methods listed below, here are a few specification highlights about this particular Bluetooth speaker from Bose. The speaker weighs about 1.5lbs with a height of 5.97″, Width of 3.24″ and a diameter of 3.24″. It has a 3.5 mm auxiliary output and a Micro-B USB port. You can wirelessly connect to this device via Bluetooth with a range of up to 30 feet or 9 inches. Also, it has a lithium-ion battery that can play non stop for up to 12 hours, that’s quite impressive. Colors available for this particular products are Luxe Silver and Triple Black.
Method 1: Factory Reset Bose Speaker
The very first thing that you need to do in order to fix Bose Soundlink speaker will not turn ON issue is to reset the product. Resetting reboots the Bluetooth speaker and erases all settings thereby returning it to its factory default settings.
Time needed: 1 minute.
- Press and hold the Power Button for 10 seconds.
Continue to press and hold the power button for 10 seconds until product blinks a blue light and then you will hear a voice prompt asking you to select a language.
Press the power button and then check if the Bluetooth speaker won’t turn ON problem still occurs.
Method 2: Check for product updates
Updating the latest version of the products helps fix software related issues that may have caused the product will not turn ON. Make sure your speaker software is up to date.
There are two simply ways to update your product: Via Bose connect app or by connecting the speaker to a computer and then head over to the Bose Online Updater found on Bose Website. Simply search the specific speaker that you want to check for updates.
Method 3: Check status of Battery LED Indicator light
The LED indicator light of each Bluetooth speakers can vary that depends on the device if it is operating on battery, or if it is plugged in. Now, there are 5 indicator LED lights on this device. Make sure to check the status of the battery light of your Bose speaker from power.
Here’s a brief overview of what the Battery LED indicator light means while charging:
- First power LED indicator light is blinking: 0-20% battery charge
- Second power LED indicator light is blinking: 20-40% battery charge
- Third power LED indicator light is blinking: 40-60% battery charge
- Fourth power LED indicator light is blinking: 60-80 % battery charge
- Fifth power LED indicator light is blinking: 80-100% battery charge
If all of the five indicator light is solid, this simply means that the speaker is at 100% battery charge. However, if the solid lights alternatively it means that there is a charging error that prevents the speaker to be fully charged, hence Bluetooth speaker won’t turn on.
Method 4: Check if battery is fully charged
After checking the status of the indicator light, next is to check whether the battery if fully charged. As mentioned, when the 5 LED indicator is solid you can simply tell that the battery of the speaker is fully charged. Once battery level is fully charged, unplug the speaker from the wall outlet.
If it is, press the power button and then check if the Bluetooth speaker won’t turn ON issue still occurs.
Method 5: Speaker is in Battery Protection Mode
When the speaker is not used for more than 3 days and with only less than 10 percent of battery level left, it goes into a Battery Protection Mode feature. To disable this feature, make sure to connect it to a charging cable connected to a working outlet.
Method 6: Enable Ship Mode
Since the issue is also about the battery of Bose speaker, make sure that you are protecting the battery. If you will not be using it for a long period of time, make sure the ship mode feature is enabled.
To do this:
- Connect Bose Bluetooth speaker to the power supply
- Press and hold the Multi-function button for 10 seconds
- Unplug Bluetooth speaker while you are still hold the Multifunction button for 10 seconds.
- Release Multi-function button
To disable ship mode:
- Connect speaker to the main outlet of the power supply.
Method 7: Make sure Bose Bluetooth speaker is turned off when not in use
Keep in mind that when the Bose Bluetooth speaker is still ON even when you are not using it drains its battery. If at one point you unknowingly left it turned ON for a period of time, it is possible that the device wont turn ON because it no longer has a battery charge.
Although if the device does not detect a nearby bluetooth or AUX signal for about 30 minutes, it has this feature that it automatically turns OFF. However though, it is recommended to manually turn it OFF if you plan to use not it.
