Problem 1: Galaxy S7 email app search function not working

Hi there. I’m using my Samsung S7 Edge for about 4 months now, and since a couple of weeks, I’m not able to search through my e-mail anymore. Meaning that when I type (for example) the subject or the name of the sender from the certain e-mail that I want to see, I get zero results. Can you help me solve this problem?  Thanks! Best Regards. — Marcella Kuijpers

Solution: Hi Marcella. Did you do anything different prior to noticing the problem? If you did, try to undo that particular thing and see if it works. For example, if you installed an app before the problem started, it’s possible that the said app may be buggy and is now affecting the function of your email app. Try to uninstall it and see if it helps.

Sometimes, problems can occur after installing an Android update so be sure update all your apps as well. Incompatible apps often result to problems so you want to check that all apps in your device run the latest update version.

If all of them are updated at this time, consider wiping the cache partition. This will force the phone to delete the existing system cache, which may have become corrupted. Here’s how:

  1. Turn off your Samsung Galaxy S7.
  2. Press and then hold the Home and Volume UP keys, then press and hold the Power key.
  3. When the Samsung Galaxy S7 shows on the screen, release the Power key but continue holding the Home and Volume Up keys.
  4. When the Android logo shows, you may release both keys and leave the phone be for about 30 to 60 seconds.
  5. Using the Volume Down key, navigate through the options and highlight ‘wipe cache partition.’
  6. Once highlighted, you may press the Power key to select it.
  7. Now highlight the option ‘Yes’ using the Volume Down key and press the Power button to select it.
  8. Wait until your phone is finished doing the Master Reset. Once completed, highlight ‘Reboot system now’ and press the Power key.
  9. The phone will now reboot longer than usual.

Once you’ve wiped the system cache, you can then wipe the cache and data of the email app you’re using. This will ensure that you address any possible app-level bug that may be causing your issue. Here’s how:

  1. Open the Settings menu either through your notification shade (drop-down) or through the Settings app in your app drawer.
  2. Navigate down to “Apps”. This may be renamed to something like Applications or Application Manager in OEM skinned versions of Android 6 or 7.
  3. Once in there, look for the application and tap it.
  4. You’ll now see a list of stuff that gives you information about the app, including Storage, Permissions, Memory Use, and more.
  5. These are all clickable items. You’ll want to click on Storage.
  6. You should now clearly see the Clear Cache and Clear Data buttons for the application. Try to wipe the cache first to see if it will make any difference. If nothing changes, do the Clear Data option.

Keep in mind that as of this writing, we can confirm that the Samsung email app that came with all Galaxy S7 phones, version 4.0.78-0, has a working search function. If you not using the pre-installed Samsung app, we suggest that you switch to it. Google’s Gmail email app has also a working search function at this time so it’s also a good alternative for you.

Problem 2: Galaxy S7 Recent Apps, Home, and Back buttons not working properly

Good morning sir, I would like to ask what might be the problem with my Samsung Galaxy S7 because once I turn it on, the icons at the bottom that include the home, back arrow, etc. keep on working one after the other without me tapping on them. It’s like there’s an invisible finger tapping on them and after several minutes, it stops with the home button and the other icons won’t function even if I tap them…they get stuck. Sometimes it works well though, but most of the time I cannot go to the app I want to open because the home and back keys are automatically tapped. This problem just started a couple of days ago. What do you think is the problem? Should I need to replace the LCD? Thanks in advance. — Nemie

Solution: Hi Nemie. It looks like your phone’s digitizer has gone bad. There are three major components in a phone’s screen assembly: the LCD/monitor, digitizer, and digitizer flex cable. The digitizer is the component of the screen that captures your touches or taps and converts them into digital signals. These signals are then pass on to the mainboard via the flex cable. Any damage to the screen are usually hardware in nature such after you’ve accidentally dropped the device, physically impacted it, or exposed it to water. If any of them happened on your device, you should have the phone repaired or replaced.

Although it’s rare, software glitch may play a role in the bottom buttons to stop working normally. To ensure that there’s no software-related issue involved, make sure that you factory reset the phone before sending it in. Here’s how:

  5. Using the Volume Down key, navigate through the options and highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset.’
  6. Once highlighted, you may press the Power key to select it.
  7. Now highlight the option Yes — delete all user data using the Volume Down key and press the Power button to select it.
  8. Wait until your phone is finished doing the Master Reset. Once completed, highlight ‘Reboot system now’ and press the Power key.
  9. The phone will now reboot longer than usual.

Problem 3: What to do when faced with network hacking issue

I am desperate for answers and help in a serious case which involves hacking a network and all phones connected to it, mostly Android phones. There are iPads, iPhone and MacBook Air and Windows desktops and laptop computers also in this network.

A travesty has taken place here leading to the false arrest and 9 charges brought to an innocent person now on trial facing prison, who is being victimized by the person who is hacking that network. But when they mention hackers, they are instantly dismissed as psychiatric patient having a paranoid delusion. Lawyers don’t believe that virtual machines and network exist, they don’t believe that IMSI catchers exist or the technical reasons why they exist. They don’t believe how 13 new cell phones bought and replaced, after logging into this network forever changed each new phone by odd things happening to it afterwards. You can witness these phones and computers literally in use and being operated by a ghost so to speak. There is no human touching them yet you can watch them compose and send the emails that has the real victim facing jail and on trial.

This person is a millionaire so is the one who is hacking but the difference between them is the victim has been blocked by the hacker from access to her own money and bank accounts. This is a divorce case and the husband was caught doing the unthinkable so he must say wife is insane to discredit her in case she tells for what she caught him doing. It’s deadly serious and everybody believes him because she said earlier on that someone spies on her phone . This means she is insane like he made everyone else believe. We need some help to find the obvious remote login access capability that is in the phone and explain why and how this can easily be done to someone and how obviously they do it with network access to get into any new phone or develop purchased. Problem is not going away. But she will be going away to jail on Oct 2nd unless someone helps and provides in writing, a report and explanation for how things like this can and do happen. Payment is also possible but after release of the funds after charges are dropped. Please someone help her because she is scared of jail but even more afraid of telling on him and meeting same fate as the person who angered him and the secret she holds over him that she found out accidentally without suspension or looking even. She found photos in his personal office and obvious explanation required no words. — Allison Gomberg

Solution: Hi Allison. Accessing someone else’s computer or device without authorization from the owner is a serious offense anywhere in the world. If you think your device or that of your friend’s is being hacked, you should seek help from authorities and not from third party support groups like us. Although we deal with Android issues, we are not experts in catching a hacker, nor do we have the authority to do so. In most cases, determining the source of the hack is very demanding and requires a lot of resources. The right tools needed for the job are very specialized and may not be available for public use. Even your local police department may not have the right software if the hack you claim is sophisticated enough to use the latest hacking tools.

As much as would like to help, your issue is simply beyond our technical scope of support. It has serious legal consequences so you want to work with your legal authorities regarding the matter.
