One of the simplest ways to fix SIM-related issues is by temporarily disconnecting the SIM card. This usually works because sometimes, network issues may occur if a SIM card is loosely connected or when there’s an issue with the SIM card itself. If you haven’t tried this yet, be sure to remove the SIM card and see what happens after re-inserting it.

Below are the steps to remove a SIM card:

  1. Turn off your Galaxy Note10+. This is important. Inserting a SIM while the device is on may result to corrupted data.
  2. With your phone’s screen facing you, remove the card tray. You can use the insertion/removal tool (or a paperclip) to unlock the tray by inserting it into the provided slot. This small hole should be visible on the top part of your device.
  3. Remove the SIM card from the tray. You can lift the card up from the bottom. To assist, use the opening on the opposite side of the tray to dislodge (using a fingernail or similar tool).
  4. Reinsert the card tray.
  5. Press in on the tray to lock it into place.

After a few moments, re-insert the SIM card. Be sure that the phone is OFF when doing this.

Galaxy Note10+ No SIM card detected fix #4: Use another SIM

If nothing changes after reseating the SIM, your next move is to see if the issue is caused by a defective SIM card. There are two ways to do this. One is by getting a new SIM card from your carrier. The other way is to borrow a known working SIM card from someone (be sure it’s compatlible with your carrier) and see if your Note10+ detects the card. Either of these methods should help you determine if the No SIM card detected error on your Galaxy Note10+ should help in knowing if you have a SIM card problem. If you think that the current SIM card is defective, get a new one from your carrier right away. Although SIM cards are extremely durable, they can still go bad. Getting a new one is the easiest way to resolve a SIM card problem.

Galaxy Note10+ No SIM card detected fix #5: Clear cache partition

If the No SIM card detected error started after updating the software on your Galaxy Note10+, there may be a problem with the system cache. To ensure that your Galaxy Note10+’s system cache is in top shape, try clearing the cache partition where it’s kept. This will force the device to create a new one afterwards. Don’t worry, clearing the cache won’t erase your personal data and only temporary set of files will be wiped out. Here’s how to clear the cache partition:

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby / Power key.
  3. When the green Android logo displays, release both keys (‘Installing system update’ will show for about 30 – 60 seconds before showing the Android system recovery menu options).
  4. The Recovery screen menu will now appear. When you see this, release the buttons.
  5. Use the Volume Down button until you are highlighting ‘Wipe cache partition.’
  6. Press the Power button to select ‘Wipe cache partition.’
  7. Use Volume Down to highlight Yes.
  8. Press the Power button to confirm the action to clear the cache.
  9. Wait for a second as the system wipes the cache.
  10. Press the Power button again to reboot the device. This will return the device to the normal interface.
  11. That’s it!

Galaxy Note10+ No SIM card detected fix #6: Reset network settings

Network functions like SMS and MMS may sometimes work erratically or not at all if there’s incorrect network settings. Make sure that you reset your phone’s network settings at this point if the problem remains.

  1. Open Settings app.
  2. Tap Apps.
  3. Find and tap the messaging app.
  4. Tap Storage.
  5. Tap Clear Data button.
  6. Restart the device and check for the problem.

This troubleshooting step will erase the list of wifi networks your device has connected in the past, wifi passwords, list of previously paired Bluetooth devices, VPN settings and reset the APN settings of your cellular configuration.

Galaxy Note10+ No SIM card detected fix #7: Restart to Safe Mode

Another possible reason why your Galaxy Note10+ may have a SIM card issue is bad apps. To check if one of the installed third party apps is causing this issue, restart the phone to Safe Mode. when running on safe mode, all third party apps are suspended and can’t run. If there’s no No SIM card detected error on Galaxy Note10+ while on Safe mode, you can assume that a bad app is causing the trouble.

To restart to Safe Mode:

  1. Turn the device off.
  2. Press and hold the Power key past the model name screen.
  3. When “SAMSUNG” appears on the screen, release the Power key.
  4. Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume down key.
  5. Continue to hold the Volume down key until the device finishes restarting.
  6. Safe mode will display in the bottom left corner of the screen.
  7. Release the Volume down key when you see Safe Mode.
  8. Check for the problem.

While your Note10+ is on Safe Mode, all of the apps you downloaded will be suspended; only preinstalled apps will be allowed to run. If your phone detects the SIM card normally, or if there’s no SIM card error at all, that’s a clear indicator of a bad third party app problem. To identify which of your apps is the source of trouble, you must use elimination method. Here’s what you can do:

  1. Boot to safe mode.
  2. Check for the problem.
  3. Once you’ve confirmed that a third party app is to blame, you can start uninstalling apps individually. We suggest that you begin with the most recent ones you added.
  4. After you uninstall an app, restart the phone to normal mode and check for the problem.
  5. If your Note10+ is still problematic, repeat steps 1-4.

The last possible solution that you can try in this situation is factory reset. You want to do this if none of the suggested solutions above has not helped at all. Just remember, factory reset will erase the device so all unsaved personal data such as photos, videos, documents, etc. will all be deleted. Be sure to create a backup ahead of time.

Below are the two ways to factory reset your Galaxy Note10:

Method 1: How to hard reset on Samsung Galaxy Note10 via Settings Menu

This is the easiest way to wipe your Galaxy Note10. all you have to do is to go under Settings menu and follow the steps below. We recommend this method if you have no trouble going under Settings.

  2. Open Settings app.
  3. Scroll to and tap General management.
  4. Tap Reset.
  5. Select Factory data reset from the given options.
  6. Read the information then tap Reset to continue.

If your case is that the phone is not booting up, or it boots but Settings menu is inaccessible, this method can be helpful. First, you need to boot the device to Recovery Mode. Once you successfully access Recovery, that’s the time that you begin proper master reset procedure. It may take some tries for you before you can access Recovery so be patient and simply try again.

  1. If possible, create a backup of your personal data ahead of time. If your problem prevents you from doing that, then simply skip this step.
  2. Also, you want to make sure that you remove your Google account. If your problem prevents you from doing that, then simply skip this step.
  3. Turn off the device. This is important. If you can’t turn it off, you’ll never be able to boot to Recovery Mode. If you are not able to shut the device off regularly via the Power button, wait until the phone’s battery is drained. Then, charge the phone for 30 minutes before booting to Recovery Mode.
  4. Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby / Power key.
  5. When the green Android logo displays, release both keys (‘Installing system update’ will show for about 30 – 60 seconds before showing the Android system recovery menu options).
  6. The Recovery screen menu will now appear. When you see this, release the buttons.
  7. Use the Volume Down button until you are highlighting ‘Wipe data/factory reset.’
  8. Press the Power button to select ‘Wipe data/factory reset.’
  9. Use Volume Down to highlight Yes.
  10. Press the Power button to confirm factory reset.
  11. Follow the rest of the instructions to finish the task.
